First I must apologise for the lack of updates in my newsletter. I am still getting my head around how to use the website properly and we’re looking to change this soon so it’s more ‘newsletterish’ and easy for me to update. But I have been doing a lot of writing while we were away overseas. If you haven’t seen my blog, you can read all about our trip at http://jacquelineharvey.blogspot.com
I’ve been back at home for five weeks – it’s hard to believe how quickly 13 weeks passed by while we travelled in the US, UK, France and Hong Kong. I’m very excited to have made a big decision to resign from my full time job and at the end of October I will be focusing my time on writing and touring.
Last week, Alice-Miranda Shows the Way was released – we will be having a launch towards the end of August to celebrate Alice-Miranda and the launch of my new series, Clementine Rose. More details soon.
I’m in the process of updating my events page too so please come back again soon for more details of visits to bookshops and other activities.
So, hopefully a better website with more information coming very soon.
Hi, thanks for signing up to my newsletter. At the moment I’m sort of finding my feet with the whole new website and wondering what to put in the newsletter, so forgive me if it’s a bit rambly. The past month has been really busy with the launch of Alice-Miranda In New York, which we held on one of the only sunny days of the summer in Wahroonga Park. It was a wonderful event with around 250 people attending and the park did a very good impersonation of New York’s own Central Park. The gourmet hot dogs were delicious and the gelato was yummy too. Jane and Jo from Novella were amazing and Anna’s musical selections were just perfect. There are some great photos on the photo pages of the site courtesy of my sisters Nat and Sarah and husband Ian.
Since then I have visited lots of schools to talk about the books; PLC Pymble, Roseville College, Ravenswood School for Girls, TARA, Arden, MLC, Santa Sabina Del Monte, Gosford Primary School, Our Lady of the Rosary Wyoming and next week Queenwood and Seaforth before I head to Queensland, for two days in Brisbane followed by the fabulous Somerset Festival on the Gold Coast. There’s more to come in Melbourne and Canberra and then some days in Sydney, Wollongong and Camden – I’m looking forward to it all. At the same time I really need to get some writing done!
I’m busy planning a huge tour to the USA and UK as well. Today is World Book Day and as a very happy coincidence, Alice-Miranda At School is officially out in the UK today. The cover is really sweet.
Today I visited the wonderful Children’s Bookshop in Beecroft where over 80 of Alice-Miranda’s friends stopped by for a cupcake afternoon tea. On Sunday I’m heading to Shearer’s at Leichardt and then next Wednesday I’m visiting Pages and Pages at Mosman. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to have such great support for Alice-Miranda.
Anyway, I better get a move on with some other things. If I think of anything else I’ll add it to the website soon – and if you think of something you’d like to see please let me know
