Hope you’ve all had a great week. I’ve been busy working on Alice-Miranda to the Rescue which will be the 13th book in the series. It’s due out in February next year and so far I’ve written just over 10,000 words (it will be about 60,000 by the time I’ve finished the draft). I’m having lots of fun creating new characters and boy, there are some baddies! Myrtle Parker and her husband Reginald are back and I’m loving spending time with them. Alice-Miranda and her friends are busy at school and there is a special friend who has come to spend a term at Winchesterfield-Downsfordvale – I wonder if you can guess who it is? I won’t tell you too much about the story yet as it’s still in the early stages. I’m now editing Alice-Miranda in the Alps too which is due out on the 1st of September. It’s a rollicking adventure in the Swiss Alps with loads of mysteries for Alice-Miranda and her friends to solve.
Next week I’m off to Melbourne and I can’t wait. I will be visiting schools and bookshops and hosting our fabulous high tea event on Sunday 21 June where we are going to launch Clementine Rose and the Birthday Emergency. There are still some tickets available so if you haven’t booked yet click here for the details.
I can’t wait to see everyone all dressed up! I’ve heard the food is going to be amazing too. I’ll have to start thinking about what to pack – I really don’t like packing, although after so much travelling I’ve certainly gotten a lot better at it these days.
If you’re keen to see where I will be in Melbourne please check the events page on the website and fingers crossed I will see you somewhere very soon!
Have a great weekend,
Jacqueline (and Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose xx)
