A new book!

June 11, 2014 by Jacqueline Harvey 82 Comments

Hello everyone,

Clementine Rose and the Treasure Box

Clementine Rose and the Treasure Box

I am so excited to tell you that I have a new adventure coming out on the 1st July!  It’s called Clementine Rose and the Treasure Box and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.  We’re going to have lots of celebrations to launch it including at The Tea Salon in Westfield Sydney and in Newcastle and The Children’s Bookshop at Beecroft too.  If you want to see all of the events please have a look on the events page of the website.

I was so excited when I realised that we were getting new neighbours.  They moved into the cottage at the end of our road.  It used to be all falling down but now it’s beautiful and it’s lovely to have three new friends. Tilda and Teddy are twins and they have a big sister called Araminta.  The twins are going to be in the same class as me at school.

Teddy has a pet tortoise called Flash and I think he and Lavender are going to be friends as well.  I’m not sure about Pharaoh.  Flash hides inside his shell everytime he sees him!

I hope you get to read all about our adventure.  I can’t tell you too much because it will spoil the surprise but something terrible happens in the village.  Then something good happens which makes up for it.

Lots of love,

Clementine Rose xx

PS Have you signed up for our newsletter yet?  Each month you get special sneak peeks and there are competitions too and last month I got to share a poem I love.  You just have to click on the big sun in the top corner of the website.

Hi Jacqueline! Just wondering if Araminta- Clemmie’s friends meets Alice Miranda, because it says in Clementine Rose and the treasure box that Araminta would be starting high school at Winchesterfield Downsforvale the following year, so i was wondering if Alice Miranda would befriend her.
If you could answer that would be great!

      Hi Adam,

I just thought it would be a very unusual way for a baby to arrive at their new home. It’s sort of funny and very silly and the line just came to me when I was thinking about the story one morning. Someone placed Clementine there in the basket but we don’t know who (well the readers don’t but I do) and over the course of the series I’m going to reveal some clues. Hope you enjoyed the story.

    Hello, Jacqueline,

I just finished reading “Clementine Rose and the Famous Friend” and I enjoyed it very much!
I was wondering if Agnes Wells was a real author as I tried to look her up and got no results.
I loved the “Book Bug” poem at the end of the book and I was after more poems and stories like that.

I have just started the new “Clementine Rose and the Ballet Break-in”.
I am sure I’ll have lots of fun.

My mummy makes funny voices for the characters. I like the Aunt Violet, Clementine Rose and Mrs Bottomley voices the most! 🙂

I love Clementine Rose and the adventures she goes on. One of my friend Emily and I love the Clementine Rose books and Emily dressed up as Clementine for our book parade. I think you are very good at writing. My favourite thing about your books is that you put some people who are not so nice and some people who are very nice in the books. I like this because it makes it a bit more interesting. I loved meeting you at my school Arden last year. I just started reading Alice Miranda. It is very cool. What I like about Alice Miranda is that in book one she changes the whole school to make it a very happy school. Love Lilli.

    Hey Jacquline!

I actually love your alice miranda books and have been reading them ever since I was 9! in grade 4, my friend introduced me to your books and I started reading the first one and I was so engaged! The personality and characteristics of Alice Miranda made me want to be just like the sweet girl! Now I am 13 and I have just finished reading alice miranda at camp and at the palace! I may continue reading it when I’m older too! just coz I love the books mysteries. I hope you continue writing the alice miranda books continuously and have no end to it! maybe one day, you could write until she reaches an age where she gets married or something! I can’t wait until the episodes come out, so I’ve read above ^^.

I would like to give you suggestions to the future books you may be writing for alice miranda?
    1. Alice Miranda in Australia
    2. Alice Miranda in Hawaii
    3. Alice Miranda and her love
    4. Alice Miranda and the Competition
    5.Alice Miranda at Heaven

P.s just some ideas! I love your books! please keep continuing to impress us readers out there! xoxo I would actually love to meet you in real life if you would come to Australia :). In the meantime, have a great time writing! xx

I love the idea of writing until she gets married! How adorable would that be but I wonder who she’d marry. I think I know who Jacinta would like to marry :). Thanks for the ideas for new stories too – it’s great to hear what readers would like. You might be surprised to know that I actually live in Australia – in Sydney and I am Australian. I do lots of events around the country although I travel overseas to England quite a bit too. I’m excited to be going back there later in the year for a month and then I’m visiting Hong Kong and China too.

Perhaps I will get to meet you someday soon.

Hello Jacqueline! I only just read your message, because I had no more books to read, then I suddenly thought of alice miranda! then i was like to myself, omg! is there a new book out yet? (after alice miranda at the palace.) Then I checked and there wasn’t. I understand it takes a long time to write. Because assignments! So then I remembered I typed to you on your blog earlier in the year! I went through to see if you replied and I was soooo excited that you replied. I even yelled this excitedly at my mum! I was so excited when you said you live in Australia! I do too! Please come visit Cairns sometime. If you plan to come to Cairns, please let me know so I can get ready and everything because I’m not a person that knows everything in my town straight away. Thank you solo much. I can’t wait to read Alice Miranda in the Alps! only like a month and a bit away! I can’t wait! Please please please don’t stop writing the Alice Miranda series. I haven’t read the Clementine Rose books yet because I am 13, I think it is a bit too thin for me to read, for I read teenage/adults and even some young girls books such as Alice Miranda :). xoxo

      Hi there,

I am signed up to write 16 Alice-Miranda books but I’m hoping that there will be more than that. I get inspiration from meeting lots of children and from the fact that I worked in schools for a long time. If I was a young writer I would look for competitions to enter as they are a great way to focus your writing. I would also do lots of writing on a regular basis and always carry a notebook. I used to write a diary every day too and that’s great as often you forget really fun things that have happened to you.

There are some writing tips on my website under the teachers tab.

      Best wishes,

    Dear Jacqueline Harvey,
I absolutely love Alice Miranda and Clementine Rose books!
Both of them are the only series I like. I can’t wait for Alice Miranda in China!
I was just wondering which country Alice Miranda lives in?
I am reading your series all over again. I read all of them about 4 times.
All of your books are so exciting!

      Hi Lucia,

Thanks for your lovely message. I’ve never actually said where Alice-Miranda lives in terms of a country. I like the readers to decide for themselves – it could be England or it could be Australia. Hope you love Alice-Miranda in China too.

      Best wishes,
      Jacqueline

Hi, I love the Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose books!! I’m up to Alice-Miranda in China and I don’t read the clementine rose ones in order. One question:Is Alice-Miranda set in England and if so, is Ita real place in England?
How many Alice-Miranda’s will you write?

      Hi Miranda,

Alice-Miranda isn’t specifically set in a particular country – I want readers to make up their own minds. I will write lots more Alice-Miranda’s – as long as I still enjoy writing them then why stop!

      Have a great week.

      Best wishes,
      Jacqueline

      Hi Lucinda,

I am glad that you enjoy reading about Clementine Rose, her family and friends’ adventures. There has been so much happening in Clemmie’s world; book 14 will not be released until early/mid 2018.

      Best wishes,
