Hi Jacqueline,
As soon as I received the email from you about the movie, I begged my Mum to buy tickets. I will see you on Saturday 16 November 2019 at Chermside. I can’t wait. I am going to bring my book I won (AM keeps the beat)

Lexi

Hi Jacqueline, I have two questions. 1. Is all those books listed above going to be available, even the movie script? 2. In the picture above of Am friends forever, with the four horses, I can recognise AM and Millie but who are the people behind them on the horses, is it possible Lucinda?

Sorry for the annoying questions I just really wanted to know.

I’m pretty the other two Jacinta and Lucas, all though I can’t say for certain.

Sorry what I meant to say was “is it possibly Lucinta(as in Lucas and Jacinta)” not lucinda

    September 17, 2019 at 5:39 pm

      Anna

Doesn’t Jacinta hate horses? I do love lucinda, though, I love the character development and their relationship growth! Can’t wait for AM 19!

        Jacqueline Harvey

You’re right – she’s not a fan but for the movie she’s not quite as vocally opposed to them as in the books. The screenwriters have taken some poetic licence with the script and so it is a little different to the way I tell the stories – but still lots of fun. Hope that you get to see it :).

        September 22, 2019 at 12:05 pm

    Jacqueline Harvey

Yes all of those books are currently available even the movie script. You can buy them in bookshops all over Australia or online on shops like Booktopia. The people on the horses are Jacinta and Lucas. Jacinta likes horses in the movie (the production company changed it but I’m fine with that).

    Hi Kyla,

The movie was on in some cinemas on the North Island when it was on at the cinemas in Australia but I’m not sure if they are getting it on subscription television like we have STAN in Australia – I will do some investigating. Hope you get to see it soon.

Any news on AM 19?

September 20, 2019 at 12:43 pm

Jessica

Hi Jacqueline!
Congratulations on having a full blown movie in production for your books! I’ll be sure to watch it when it comes out. Also, happy very early 10th AMiversary! (Works better then AMHSKJversary) I saw a new variant cover for Alice-Miranda at school and suddenly remembered. In fact if you look at it a certain way, you’ll realize it’s been an entire decade of you and your writing bringing smiles to children’s faces- and that’s important.

note: I also know about the count of the sea and your code name books, but from what I’ve read it seems your first AM book was where your career kicked off!

Out of curiosity, what’s in store for AM 19? I saw a comment to which you replied that it could be in Australia. If not, then could you drop a hint on it? I’m all ears.

I also saw the new cover for kensy and max: free fall. It looks so pretty! Please give Anne Yi a hug from me and tell her that she’s really good at what she’s doing. I feel like illustrators for books and book covers deserved to be recognized as much as the writer because they bring characters to life too.

p.s: I’m the same Jess that recently posted a loooooong comment which you put on your Facebook (thank you ilysm)

September 20, 2019 at 4:57 pm

    Jacqueline Harvey

Thanks Jess! There is a beautiful 10th Anniversary edition of AM At School coming out next year – I can’t believe that it’s been ten years – it seems like a moment ago. I am thinking about AM 19 and I can feel an Aussie adventure about to happen – so stay tuned. Anne Yi is amazing – such a talented lady and I’m so thrilled we work together. You are right in saying that AM was when my career properly took flight.

    Best wishes,
    Jacqueline

Wait, I saw the cover for book 4 and it was called Out of Sight. Is Free Fall book 5 or 4? I am so confused right now.

      November 1, 2019 at 1:32 pm

        Jacqueline Harvey

Free Fall is Number 5 – Out of Sight is out now and is number 4.

Stephanie

Hi Jacqueline!

I’ve loved reading your books for a while now! I’d say my favourite character is Jacinta because she’s a lot like me (and every Lucinta moment was adorable!!!). I also love Chessie as she’s super sweet.

Just a few questions:
How old is Sep?
Who’s the boy in the picture with AM, Millie and Jacinta?
Are there any new characters joining the gang in the movie?

October 5, 2019 at 8:44 am

    Jacqueline Harvey

    Hi Stephanie,

Sep is the same age as Lucas who is a little bit older than Jacinta (about 18 months). I think the boy you’re referring to is Lucas. There aren’t really any new characters in the movie from what I can remember.

That’s great you enjoy the books – thank you!

      October 29, 2019 at 5:14 am

Stephanie

Hi Jacqueline!

I’ve read your books for a while and are loving them!

One question:
How old is Chessie, Caprice and Sep?

October 7, 2019 at 3:00 pm

    Jacqueline Harvey

    Hi Stephanie,

Thank you for your kind words. It depends where you are up to as to the ages of the others. Basically when the books begin AM is 7 and a quarter and Millie is ten – so almost three years older than AM. I am pretty sure that Sep is a year older than his sister Sloane (who is also 10 at the start). Caprice and Chessie are the same age as Millie throughout and Jacinta is a year older than them. Now I’m confusing myself!

    Best wishes,
    Jacqueline

Mrs Harvey,
I am so excited! I have been waiting for this for ages. I adore all your books because the sense of mystery in them all is thrilling! I came to the Kensy and Max Book 2 book launch and my parents said no more but i convinced them to let me come to this! I am always waiting for another one of your books!

Hi Jessica,

Thanks for your wonderful words! I am excited about the movie too. Where do you live? Hopefully you will get the movie as well but if you let me know where you are I can investigate. Alice-Miranda Keeps the Beat is all about the teachers at school being in a strange fight and a huge drama in the village. There is a new teacher – not sure if you should trust her or not and AM and her friends decide to do something amazing to help a family in desperate need.

Baby Aggie is cuteness personified!

Dear Jacqueline,
The Alice-Miranda movie is here at last! I just can’t wait to see it.
The trailer’s amazing, watching it made me hang out for it even more! The animation and all the voices of the characters are fantastic, and just as I envisioned them when reading the books.
I have tickets booked for November, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how it incorporates the books in the series.
Can’t wait!

Dear Ms. Harvey,
It’s absolutely great the movie is coming out! The trailer is positively amazing! Congratulations for being short-listed for the younger readers YABBA awards. It was a close call and i still think you should have won, although i have not read any of Ms Wang’s books, i’m sure she’s a brilliant writer just like you. It was wonderful to meet you in person and i hope we get to meet again. Please give Ms. Murrell my regards. And congratulations on the movie as well! Quick question, will there be a movie on every one of the Alice-Miranda books? Could you also perhaps make a children’s Tv show for the Clementine-Rose series? I’ve just gotten my sister into reading them and she loves it!

Hi ms. Harvey,
I am 11 and 3 quarters years old. I’ve read ALL OF YOUR ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT BOOKS and I am IN LOVE with them, especially Alice- Miranda. I am your biggest ever fan! I can tell from just how you write and look that you are just as wonderful as your books! I’m so excited to watch Alice- Miranda friends forever! You know, I look quite a bit like Sloane Sykes from this trailer. I was thinking about your next Alice- Miranda book, book 19. Please could you add a few more Lucinta moments? Ummm… I want to suggest something, but it’s completely up to you if you don’t want to! It’s this: I really would like Alice- Miranda to go to Pakistan, because it is my parents country and I really love it. It’s very beautiful. It also has quite a few interesting landmarks and icons! But if you don’t want to, it’s completely fine!

To Jacqueline Harvey,

Hi’m so excited to see the movie! Will it be able to be purchased on DvD? If so, when will, that come out?

I’m so excited to read book 19, AMHSKJ in the Outback. Will I be able to purchase it at Dymocks ?

If you’re going to make more movies, maybe you could make one for each book? I’d buy all of them and still continue to read the Alice Miranda series a thousand times over. I’m on my twelfth time of reading it!

    Hi Kiara,

The Alice-Miranda movie is available on STAN and 9NOW. I hope you enjoy Alice-Miranda in the Outback!

There is a new animated movie in the making, however, it has been delayed due to the current circumstances.

    Happy reading,

    Jacqueline
