Alice-Miranda Holds the Key is OUT NOW and Happy 7 year anniversary to Alice-Miranda!

Hello Everyone,

I’m so thrilled that Alice-Miranda Holds the Key is out now! It’s hard to believe that it’s 7 years today since the very first Alice-Miranda adventure was launched by my lovely friend Markus Zusak (a much cleverer writer than me – you might know him as he’s the author of The Book Thief) at Abbotsleigh, the school where I used to work. I couldn’t have imagined then that we would now have 15 books in the series and that I’m still writing more. Alice-Miranda and her friends have become such a huge part of my life and I love them all to bits.

We’ve just celebrated the release of the new book with beautiful garden parties around Australia – and I’ll be posting about them soon with lots of pictures.

I hope that you enjoy the new adventure and will join me in celebrating seven years of my girl! Make sure you click on the link as there is a great colouring sheet to download too.

Best wishes,

Jacqueline

Hi Ms Harvey.

Congrats on book 15. I love your books so much. I was just wondering, I looked at the back of the book at the cast of characters and I could not find characters such as Jacinta, Lucas, Charlotte and Lawrence. Will they still be in the book because I love those characters.

Thanks

    Hi Enya,

Sometimes because of the circumstances of the story, there are characters who don’t appear in every book. Lucas and Jacinta will be back in the next one for sure but in Holds the Key there are some interesting new characters too.
I love those characters as well.

    Best wishes,
    Jacqueline

        Hi Ariel,

I am beginning to think I could give Lucas and Jacinta their own spin off series 🙂 I hope that you’ll enjoy my new series as Kensy and Max will have some fun romance as well (not between them of course – they’re twins and that would be ‘eww!!)

        Best wishes,

    Hi Lilly,

Hannah

Dear Jacqueline,
How long does it take to write a book as long as your Alice-Miranda books?

February 12, 2017 at 6:42 pm

    Jacqueline Harvey

    Hi Hannah,

It can take up to about 8 months for one of the Alice-Miranda stories to travel from first idea to the printed version that you see. There’s lots of research, writing, editing, more research, more writing, more editing, final editing, page proofing and so much more that is involved in getting a story to the bookshelves.

Hattie

Hi Jacqueline Harvey
Will you still continue writing the Clementine Rose series, the Alice Miranda series as well as Kensie and Max?
What will the books Kensie and Max be about?
From Hattie.

March 5, 2017 at 1:14 pm

    Jacqueline Harvey

    Hi Hattie,

Yes I am continuing all three series’! Kensy and Max is about a twin brother and sister who find out something incredible and unexpected about their family – particularly their grandmother who comes into their lives out of the blue. It’s a spy series and I am fast falling in love with the characters. They are lots of fun to write and I think there will be loads of mystery and adventure and a bit of danger too!

    Hope you’ll enjoy it.

    Best wishes,
    Jacqueline

    Hi Anya,

I am working on Alice-Miranda in Hollywood – like literally right now. I’ve just finished writing a chapter which is very exciting because Alice-Miranda has just got a glimpse of a couple of bad guys. It will be out 1 September (providing that I can stick to the schedule and get another 35,000 words written in just over 2 weeks!).

Hope that you’ll enjoy it too. I love hearing what you like about the stories.

    Best wishes,
    Jacqueline

Reia

Dear Jacqueline,
Every time I go back to Australia I beg my parents for your books since it’s rare for me to get any English books because I moved to Japan. I have read all your Alice Miranda books twice and I’m reading Alice Miranda in Paris for the third time. I can’t wait for Alice Miranda in Hollywood! I’ve got 7 of the clementine rose books and I am now on the hunt for the 8th one! I just adore the way you tell us the tiniest bit of the bad guys but it isn’t quite clear. My favorite is Alice Miranda to the rescue because it has two of my favorite animals! ( dogs and horses )

Good luck writing your book

    Hi Reia,

Thank you so much for your comment and kind words- I am thrilled that you enjoy the books so much. I thoroughly enjoy re-reading my favourite stories and am glad that you do, too.

I hope that you enjoy Alice-Miranda in Hollywood; there are a couple of new characters that have made me laugh out loud!

My favourite animals are horses and dogs, too (although my husband and I seem to have been adopted by a gorgeous cat- VC for Visitor Cat. We have become totally besotted with her!) You also live in one of my favourite places- I have loved Japan since I went there on a cultural exchange as a very young teacher of a Year 5 class. I have been back there many times and continue to be fascinated with the beauty, the culture, the people, the history and the tradition!

    Best wishes,

    Jacqueline
