BREAKING NEWS! Kensy and Max character reveal coming soon in the October newsletter!

September 26, 2017 by Jacqueline Harvey 39 Comments

Many of you know that I’m working on something new. Β I’m incredibly excited about Kensy and Max and their first book will be hitting the shops in March next year. Don’t worry – there will be more Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose books as well. It’s just that Kensy and Max have been swirling around in my head for a really long time now and they have become a little bit bossy – their story simply needs to be told! The first book is called Breaking News – and there is action aplenty, mysteries to solve and fabulous characters to meet. Just wait until you become acquainted with some of their teachers!

If you want to be the first to see what Kensy and Max look like, you need to be signed up for my newsletter. It’s easy to do – just go to the homepage of the website and click in the sun on the top right-hand corner and you’ll be directed to the sign-up space. It costs NOTHING and every month you get a newsletter with lots of news and activities and there’s always a competition too. In fact, this month’s competition is dead easy – you just have to get a friend to sign up to the newsletter and you’ll go into the draw for great prizes. I’ve also extended the August dress up competition until the endΒ of September so if you want to be involved you’ve still got a few more days yet.

I aim to have the newsletter out in the first week of the month (sometimes that’s tricky due to touring but I do my best!).

So if you want to be among the first to meet Kensy and Max – sign up to that newsletter now! In the meantime, here’s a little teaser!

      Dear Tamara B,
I think that what you said was mean and it was cyberbullying. You will leave a digital footprint and your comment will stay there forever. I think to make it fair you should say sorry to her. I am not trying to be mean. She is not lying, I am sure Lauren is not lying. Maybe she ment the article or compitition helped her-sorry Lauren if you are reading this. I think I might be wrong but I’m making predictions-and not the book. Kensy and Max-Breaking News is coming out next year and I know there is no way she could’ve time travel or something but perhaps you could say it in a kinder way.

        Hi Mandy,

Thank you for being a good friend to Tamara – did you see that she apologised? I think perhaps Lauren meant I helped her with a school project by telling her what I was working on next. I love the way you girls look out for each other and that’s so important. Kindness rules!

        Best wishes,
        Jacqueline

That was really good of you to apologise Tamara. I didn’t understand what Lauren meant either but I’m sure she wasn’t trying to imply that she had read the new book. Perhaps she was doing an assignment and wanted to write about what I was working on. Thanks for being kind. That’s very Alice-Miranda :).

        Best wishes,

Have you read the newsletter yet? I sent it yesterday. I’m dying to know what everyone thinks of Kensy and Max!

I’m not sure when I’ll be back in Brisbane or Ipswich but I suspect early next year.

Probably 8-12 year olds, if it’s similar to Alice Miranda, but probably 7-10 year olds if its similar to Clementine Rose. It doesnt matter though because I am 11 and I still read both the series

I bought Alice Miranda takes the lead. I cannot believe Sloane would do that. Alice Miranda at Holiday is getting sent over and then I’ll only have to read Alice Miranda at Sea.!!!!!!!!!!

My 7 year old daughter adores the Kenny and Max series! We read them together as a family book first so we can discuss any new vocabulary or situations etc, and then she re-reads them repeatedly!
She was extremely excited when she got book 2 for Christmas.

Thanks Kellie – and apologies that it has taken me forever to write back! It has been a crazy year and my admin has been suffering terribly. I am getting on top of things now thankfully. I love that you read the books together and I am so thrilled to hear that it is expanding her vocabulary and awareness of various situations. I was a teacher for a long time and am a big fan of reading aloud and discussing books. I think it can make a huge difference to a child’s growth and development. Hope you get to read Kensy and Max: Undercover and I am almost finished the fourth book too which will be out in September.

      Best wishes,
      Jacqueline

    Hi Jaqueline,

My mother-in-law bought my youngest daughter, who is 8 years old, the first in the Kensy and Max series a year ago. In that time I have read every available book in the series to both my girls (eldest is 10 1/2 yrs). We were engaged with the story from the end of the first page, and have loved reading each gripping chapter. Its been an exciting experience reading your stories to my girls at bedtime. The only problem is that although my youngest LOVES suspense, she finds it difficult to stay still as the suspense builds, so instead of cuddling in bed as I read, she bounces off the walls, and hides in the hall – hilarious!!!! We CAN’T WAIT for the next book in the series to be published. Thank you so much for writing such thrilling children’s literature. We LOVE the series!!!!

      Hi Teresa,

Thanks for your message. You made me laugh out loud this morning! Please let your daughters know that Kensy and Max: Full Speed is on it’s way to the printer today and will be out at the end of September and Kensy and Max: Spy Games (a smaller volume produced in conjunction with Australia Reads) will hit the shops in November. I’m about to sign on to do books 9 and 10 so there will be at least another 4 stories in 2021 and 20222. Your enthusiasm is truly contagious.

      Have a wonderful weekend.

      Best wishes,
      Jacqueline
