Do you like to colour in?

Hello Friends,
Do you like to colour in?  I do – it always has a very calming effect on me.  Mrs Shillingsworth, our housekeeper, loves to colour in with me (although she always pretends that she’s only doing it to keep me company when I’m home from school).  So, I am very excited that there will soon be colouring in pages on my best grown up friend, Jacqueline Harvey’s website, www.jacquelineharvey.com.au  Check there over the coming weekend to find them!  There will be all of my book covers as well as this gorgeous cover for Clementine Rose’s first adventure that you can print off.
Lots of love,
Alice-Miranda xx

I really love your books. I was hoping to get one of your books. Sadly my mum doesn’t have enough money to buy it. Erica

    Hi Erica,

Perhaps you could borrow the books from your local library. Have you signed up for my newsletter? You can do it on the home page of the website. I run a competition every month and often the prizes are books so you never know, you might win a signed copy one day.

    Best wishes,

Ruby

Hi Jacqueline Harvey,
I love Alice-Miranda. She is really cute and funny! I love how she is always positive and thinking the best of others. I have read a few of the Clementine Rose books, but I think that I am a bit too old for the Clementine Rose books, for I am 11 years old!
My fav Alice-Miranda book is Alice-Miranda at Sea. It is really easy to read and I enjoy easy to read books sometimes after reading big books like; Harry Potter.
Are you thinking of writing another Alice-Miranda book? If you are could you please put my name in it; Ruby Parker! Thank you! Gratias tibi ago. (That is Latin for Thank you, I learn Latin at school) In Alice-Miranda takes the Lead, Sloane Skyes reminds me of a girl at my school! ^_ ‘
I like it how you named Hephzibah a non-original name, not like Jane or something else.
I love Millie’s name: Millicent Jane McLoughlin-McTavish-McNaughton-McGill and Alice-Miranda Highton-Smith Kennington-Jones!

    Hi Ruby,

I’m so pleased that you’re enjoying the Alice-Miranda books. Clementine Rose is a little younger – but I know girls who are as old as you who are still reading them just for fun. I agree that it’s fun to have stories that you can just romp along with – lots of fun and entertainment. I’ve written 11 Alice-Miranda books now. The 11th one, Alice-Miranda at the Palace comes out on the 1st of February. So there are plenty more for you to read. I’m always on the lookout for names and Ruby is a lovely one.

Have you put your name into the name generator to see what sort of long name it gives you?

Hope you’re enjoying the school holidays.

    Best wishes,
    Jacqueline

Haneen

Hi! I love Alice-Miranda books, especially the first one because it always makes me want to laugh and gasp and cry at the same time. Do you think there will ever be an Alice-Miranda writing competition? I would definitely enter that.
Like Ruby, I would love to have my name in a book because it never comes up ANYWHERE. When people who don’t know me say it, they always pronounce it wrong even though you say it how you spell it 🙂 Thank you
And yes, Alice-MIranda, I adore colouring.
Thank you so, so much for reading this!
By the way, Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose, do you play with American Girl dolls? I do!

    Hi Haneen

Thank you so much for your kind words- it’s great that Alice-Miranda inspires so many emotions. Did you know that Alice-Miranda at School turns 5 this month- it’s incredible how time has flown but wonderful that readers continue to enjoy Alice-Miranda’s first adventure!

Thanks for the idea for a writing competition- perhaps we could make it one of our monthly Newsletter competitions- have you subscribed to the Newsletter? I have this huge database of names in my head, so, you never know…you’ll just have to keep on reading about Alice-Miranda’s adventures 🙂

I’m certain that the girls would adore American Girl dolls; I know I do!

I love your books! They are amazing. I love how you put in so many descriptive words. I am 12 and still really like your books!! Do your characters play with plastic dolls or do they play with cotton and wool dolls? Do the girls like art and craft??
By the way, do you have any kids? Are you married??

    Hi Rubz,

Thank you for your kind words. It’s great that you’re enjoying the books. I think Clemmie and Alice-Miranda like all sorts of different dolls. Clemmie especially enjoys art and craft and Alice-Miranda is excellent at drawing. I have a stepdaughter called Olivia and yes I am married to a wonderful man called Ian.

I hope you keep reading the stories for a long time to come 🙂

Hello Mrs Harvey!

Like many others, I really enjoy reading your books. They really are splendid. Like Ruby and Haneen, it would be an honour to have my name in one of your books and thanks to your wonderful name generator, I have generated my own Alice-Miranda name! It is Ariel Willow Hyacinth Carrington-Chong Withers. I really hope that you can put it in one of your books someday.

You are the first Alice-Miranda with the full hyphenated name I’ve ever ‘met’. There is a little girl in Canberra whose first name is Alice and middle name is Miranda. Hope you’re enjoying your namesake’s stories.

Hi Jacqueline!
My name is Katherine and I am probably one of your BIGGEST FANS!!!!!
I have been reading Alice-Miranda since book 1 came out, and I have read every book 1-16 at least 18 times each. I cant’ wait until Alice-Miranda in Scotland comes out.
Can I Write to you? If so What is your Address? Now I understand that many people have asked if their names could be put in one of your books but could you please consider me . . . My name is Katherine Wagner or in the name Generator Katherine Olivia Fern Wellington-Wagner Herriot. I am quite like you in the sense that when I grow up I want to be a Teacher and I love writing stories, My current one is ‘Just another Day’ Its about three girls Ivory, Holly and Chantelle who are spies, Maybe when I’m finished I can show it to you! I love Alice-Miranda and I even convinced my dad to read Alice-Miranda at School! But now if I do something wrong he always says “What would Alice-Miranda do?”
Love Katherine,
P.S My favorite Alice-Miranda book is Alice-Miranda Holds the Key.

    Hi Katherine,

It sounds like you certainly deserve the title of a SUPER FAN! Thank you for loving my girl as much as I do. I’ve just written a blog post about the upcoming Scotland book. That’s great you’re enjoying writing and please keep going. I don’t have a lot of time at the moment to look at stories from fans so perhaps best you show it to your teacher when you get back to school. I love that your dad uses Alice-Miranda like that! My husband does too!! If I’m ever in a bad mood – which is not that often thank goodness, he’ll say to me, ‘what would Alice-Miranda do?’

My postal address is PO Box 6291 Pymble NSW 2073. I will look forward to your letter.

Hi Mrs Harvey!
I love your books soooo much! They are some of the best books that I have ever read! I would love to be a writer like you when I am older, but if I can not be one I love art. I am currently writing a book called ‘The Time Crimes’ which is taking me a while. I like all your books and my favorite book of Alice Miranda is ‘Alice Miranda in Scotland’. I have your most recent book on hold at the Library.

Hi Jaqueline Harvey I love your books very much. Alice Miranda is my favourite! I am right now reading Alice-Miranda in the outback and I love and adore it so far. She’s always so confident and brave and very intelligent and smart. Alice Miranda at school is also one of my favourite books it helped me feel more confident for when I go to a high school like her. Hi Jacqueline Harvey,
I really love your books! I have almost all the books in the Alice-Miranda series and have read most of the Kensy and Max books, too. I love how Alice-Miranda is kind to everyone and that she is always looking out for everyone.

I can relate to Kensy, too. I actually have a little brother called Maxx, spelt differently though. I’m using the book freefall for a novel report for school, too.

I really hope you continue the Kensy and Max series because they’re really interesting and I love them. I’ve always played spies with my younger cousins whenever we went to each others’ houses.

Alice-Miranda reminds me of myself because I have wavy dark brown hair and dark brown eyes too. She’s smart, like me and caring like me.

Please continue writing! I love how your books make me laugh and smile.

I also really like how Alice-Miranda is so kind to everyone and it’s nice that you have a lot of similar characteristics to her, the world would be such a good place with lots of Alice-Mirandas! There will definitely be more Kensy and Max adventures to come, I love writing about the mysteries with all the twists and turns along the way.

    Happy Reading,
