Join up to the newsletter and enter this month’s fabulously fun competition!
Did you know that it is absolutely free to join up for the monthly Jacqueline Harvey newsletter? You just need to go to the sun in the top right-hand corner of the website, click through to the form and fill in your details (check with Mum and Dad first to make sure that it’s okay with them).
Each month you’ll receive a newsletter with fun facts, information about new books, there are sometimes puzzles and games and even cover reveals and there is always a competition. You will also receive details about upcoming tours and events and there are some other surprises too.
This month’s competition has been inspired by this classic photo of my friends’, Sheldon and Nick’s miniature poodle, the real Farrah Fawcett.

Farrah is an adorable little dog with a love of reading; especially reading about her namesake in Alice-Miranda to the Rescue!
This month’s competition requires you to send in a photo or draw a picture of your pet or any animal showing us their love of books! But you have to be a newsletter subscriber to be eligible to enter.
Three winners will receive a signed Alice-Miranda or Clementine Rose book of their choice.
So why not, join up and have some fun, either photographing or drawing your pet or an animal you love, reading.
Denae
Dear ms Harvey
I wish I could enter..
I am missing the main thing… a pet!!!
Are you going any where this holidays?
If you need any ideas for where an AM or CR book should be set (overseas) here is a list that might help you:
Holland
Australian outback
Vienna
Canada
Texas
Have a great holiday!
Love from your no 1 fan

Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Denae,
You can still enter as you can draw a picture or maybe create a collage. You don’t have to own a pet to be in the competition and we’ve had some great entries from kids without pets – who have created great illustrations.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline

Hi, Jacqueline.I don’t know if my competition entry came through. It doesn’t come through straight on email, but it does work if I send it through photos. My mum tried sending it, but it didn’t work. I got another Alice- Miranda book too. It’s number 6, and its my birthday very soon and I’m turning 9! I hope you had a lovely holiday, but can you tell me how to print the Alice- Miranda invitations? I love Alice- Miranda sooooo much that I wanted to give out Alice-Miranda invitations for my party! From your no.1 fan
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Maryam,
I’m glad you found a copy of the mini mag. I haven’t got Alice-Miranda in China on the website yet but I will put it up soon. I have to say we’re a bit random with the days that the newsletter comes out – mostly because I’m so busy and it often sneaks up on me! I try to have it out by the end of the first week of the month. Thanks for your kind words.
Best wishes,

Maryam

Jasmine
Hi Ms Harvey,
I am writing a book review for a kids magazine called PK mag and I don’t know where to start. Do you have any tips on how not to be nervous? Anyway I’m counting down the days until school starts again so I can go to the school library to read and read. I’m having a bit of trouble seeing because I read to much. In fact so much I’m having my eyes checked tomorrow.
From your number 1 fan Jasmine
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Jasmine,
With a book review it’s usually good to start with a short overview of the story (without giving away all the good bits!), then you need to give your opinions on why you thought it was good (or not). I tend to think that it’s good to point out the strong points and maybe not spend as much time picking on the weaker elements – if you think the story has some. It’s good to be kind even if something isn’t entirely your cup of tea. I have to get my eyes checked again soon too – I think it’s too much close work at the computer for me. All the best with your review (and your eye tests).
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Gabriela

Hi Ms Harvey! I just love your books and I was wondering a few things…
1)When is the 15th AM book being published and what is the title
2) When is the 13th CR book being published and what is the title
3) I live in Singapore, do have any plans of coming here, if so please please please come to da a meet and greet in this bookstore “KinoKuniya”
4) how do I send in my photo of my pet
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Daphene,
The 15th Alice-Miranda book will be published in February next year. The 14th one will be out in September this year – the title is Alice-Miranda in China but I am not sure about the 15th one yet. Clemmie 13 will be out in April next year and again I’m not sure about the title.
I will be in Singapore later in the year – at the end of October and beginning of November and yes I will be doing an event at Kinokuniya as well as some school visits and the Singapore Writers’ Festival. I am looking forward to it. You can send the photo to jacqueline@jacquelineharvey.com.au and put April Competition in the subject line. Good luck and I hope to meet you soon.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Ella
Hi jacqueline
I love you books and I mostly read the AM books but my sister has the CR books so I have read both. I really enjoyed your latest book on AM to the rescue.
I was wondering are you going to do a completely different series?
I saw the cover of AM in china and it was a great cover I am looking forward to reading it.
From Ella
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Ella,
Yes I am going to do a new series – it will likely come out next year. I can’t say too much at the moment because it’s still developing in my head! I’m glad you like the look of AM in China – I think it’s a great cover.
Thanks for your kind words.

Your #1 fan
Hi jacqueline!
Thanks for telling me where i could see the front cover. It looks awesome! Also, i wanted to ask…
1.How old were you when you started writing these books?
2.Is it final your msking a book series with a twin girl and twin boy?
3. If it is when will it be out?
4. Do you have any ideas of what your going to write about in the 15th book?
Thanks for answering my questions.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Maryam,
I’m afraid this has to be quick as I have a big deadline and really need to get on with my book.
Alice-Miranda was first published when I was 41 years old. Yes I am fairly certain the twins will be a girl and boy, and yes I think the 15th AM book will be set at her home and involve lots of mystery and intrigue in the village where she lives and the surrounding area – and maybe Clemmie might make an appearance too!
Best wishes,
Jacqueline

Good Luck in writing futetuer books!

Allie
Dear Mrs Harvey,
I live in Hong Kong and I’m exhilarated to see you publishing a new book on China. Your books are page-turners and I often wish I were Alice-Miranda since she is so intelligent for such a young girl. When are you coming to Hong Kong? I really want to meet you! 🙂
Best wishes from your biggest fan,
Allie
P.S. Have you finished writing Alice-Miranda in China?
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Allie
Thank you- I have had a fascinating time researching different aspects of the book and have enjoyed getting a greater understanding of the history, culture and people of China. I have, just this week, sent the book to my editor, which brings a sense of achievement but also, the knowledge that there is so much more to be done before the book is in the bookshops on 1 September!
I will be coming to Hong Kong again later this year. Please keep an eye on the website for details. We will update it when details are confirmed.
I look forward to meeting you, too.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Allie
Dear Mrs Harvey,
Please please please will it be possible to visit Diocesan Girls’ Junior School when you come to Hong Kong? Also, will you have any signing parties? If so, tell me and I will be there!
Allie
Diocesan Girls’ junior School is the school I’m in and I really wish that you could come. I’ve already introduced your set/series of books to my school librarian — Mrs Salomon. She says that she has already placed an order for the set of books.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Allie,
Thank you for being such a lovely supporter of my books. Hope to meet you soon!
Best wishes,

Hi Daphene,
I would love to visit your school – I’m just starting to work on where I’ll be going but I’ll see if the lady who’s helping me with the tour knows it and if she has any contacts there. It sounds like it would be great fun.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Alicia
Dear Mrs Harvey,
Hi! I haven’t written in a long time, it feels like FOREVER!
I am delighted to know that you are writing an Alice Miranda in China book, as I come from there!
I am wondering what book you are writing after Alice Miranda in China?
Thanks,
From Alicia
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Alicia
Welcome back- it’s great to hear from you! Thank you, I had an amazing time travelling to China and researching the fascinating history, culture and people of China. I very much look forward to the book’s launch in September, although, there is still lots of work needed!
The 15th Alice-Miranda book (as yet, untitled) will see Alice-Miranda home during term time; and just in time as there is an intriguing mystery that needs to be unravelled.
Best wishes
Jacqueline

Lucy
Hello Miss Harvey, I am a great fan of your books. Just thinking that an Alice-Miranda in Greece would be quiet cool or maybe she could go back to France?
From Lucy
Post script, when will the next Alice-Miranda book come out?
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Lulu
Thank you for your very kind and supportive words. I think a trip to the Greek Isles would be a great idea; or back to France, perhaps not Paris……the French Riviera?
Alice-Miranda in China is due for release on 1 September this year. I have “put pen to paper” on the 15th Alice Miranda adventure (titled, as yet, unknown”), which will be set back at home. This book is due for release in February 2017.
Best wishes
Jacqueline
Lucy
Hello Miss Harvey I, Lulu am a great fan of your books.
Simply brilliant, I don’t think I know anyone who hasn’t heard of them.
I was thinking that maybe an A M in Greece would sound good or it would perhaps be quiet interesting if she returned to one of her “already existant adventures”, like possibly going back to France and reuniting with Madame Crabbe, Monsieur Crabbe, Fabien and his mother, what Uncle Claude now thinks about them and all the other wonderful characters.
You should be EXTREMLY proud of your achievments with A M and C R.
Kindly regarded, Lucy (a major supporting fan!).
P.S. when will the next A M book be coming out, and what will it be called or about?
Any new characters or old ones come back to visit?
Where will it be based at? Holiday, at school? Thanks for making reading so enjoyable.
Tareeka
Hi Jacqueline
I love your books. I have read every single clementime rose and some Alice miranda books. You are an amazing author.please write some more books. All my friends love you as well. I hope you write another exiting book .

Abbey Rigby
Dear Jacqueline Harvey
It’s me Abbey I’m not sure you remember me but I’d like to tell you a couple things that I have just read in my new book that I think is pretty amazing. First of all I’d like to say I have just finished reading Alice Miranda at sea a couple of weeks ago and now I’m reading Alice Miranda in New York. I have only been reading Alice Miranda in New York for only a week and I’m up to chapter 20 (and I am a very slow reader!) anyways I’d like to tell you that I had just recently read the part where it says Alice Miranda loves reading Anne of green gables and I was so shocked because I love Anne of green gables I ran straight into mums room and told her immediately she told me we could be twins (haha) that’s all from me and I hope you are doing well and if you could tell me when you are going to Melbourne next that would be great all the best
Love Abbey
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Abbey,
I love that you loved that part! Anne is one of my favourite characters too. I’m coming to Melbourne in August for a festival – perhaps I will see you there (I just can’t tell you the details yet as the festival likes to make a big announcement.)
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Jubi
Is AM ever going to go to Africa? Maybe she could go on a safari trip! I love your books and if you do decide to bring her to Africa I’m sure you’ll come up with a great plot for the book.
Jubi Oladipo
Dear Jacqueline,
I love your books so much! They are really wonderful and I hope you never stop writing them. I was wondering if AM was ever going to go to Africa? Maybe she could go on a safari trip! There would be a new character and he would be their tour guide. But really he’s a bad guy. AM could spot him capturing a Grevy’s Zebra. (They are endangered) When AM tries to tell the police they don’t believe her because they are secretly working with the tour guide. So then, AM has to solve the whole mystery by herself, and possibly save those Zebras!
P.S this is just my idea. You don’t have to use it. But it would be nice if you at least brought her to some different continents, other than Europe, Asia, and America.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Jubi
Thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm. I can honestly say that I enjoy writing about the adventures and characters so much, I think that you will have the chance to read about Alice-Miranda’s and her friends’ adventures for quite some time.
Thank you also for your suggestion- your plotline sounds intriguing and, you are correct, Africa would be an incredible place for the friends to visit! I suspect that my husband, Ian and I would very much enjoy a trip there to research the story, also!
Best wishes
Jacqueline
Maya Kalodikis
Hi Miss Harvey,
its been a while since i’ve asked anything, but i was watching a you tuber called superwoman do a video of her dancing to Bollywood music, and i remembered how Alice-Miranda mention Prince Shivaji in India. So could you consider doing an Alice-Miranda and her friends in India video with Prince Shivaji? i am super excited for the new AM book! I have a day countdown on a web sight and its marked in my school diary! Super duper looking forward to the Lucinta moments! 🙂
a huge fan
Maya
Maya Kalodikis
Sorry, not video, book. Oops
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Maya
Thank you for your enthusiasm and your suggestion.
I could certainly see Alice-Miranda and her friends travelling to India to visit Prince Shivaji. I think researching facets of the culture, history and people of the amazing country that is India, would be fascinating. Elephant rides, forts, Palaces, the vast and diverse landscapes……
Best wishes
Jacqueline

Alicia
Dear Mrs Harvey,
I’m very super excited for the AM in China book. I finally managed to get my hands on Am to the rescue and I must say, your story plot was fantastic! Twists and turns along the way!
Anyway, even though this was a long time ago, Jacinta’s father….Gosh, I’ve forgotten his name…Neville was it?
I was rather hoping he would appear in some of the later books, maybe be involved with some kind of crime? ( good side or not, it’s up to you after all!)
It would cause a bit of drama with Jacinta of course!
That was just a suggestion, you don’t have to do it, but I would love it if he had some screentime ( Booktime, maybe?) later on.
Thanks for listening to my rambling,
Alicia
Miriam
Hello, Ms. Harvey,
I love to write, and always have my head in a book. But I was going to ask what the title or the setting of the new AM book would be and whether she would with her friends. And a thought I had was…maybe Alice-Miranda could do some blogging. Even though she can’t actually do that, maybe you could. I love AM, and CR. Even though cliffhangers leave me desperate(in a good way).
Have a flawless day,
Miriam
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Miriam
I’m still thinking about the title of Alice-Miranda 15; but I know that Alice-Miranda will be at home and the adventure and intrigue will be centred around Highton Hall and the village. Believe me, there will be some cliff hangers!!
Hopefully, Alice-Miranda will be back in the blogging world soon!
Good luck with your writing!
Best wishes
Jacqueline
Kate
Dear Ms Harvey,
I don’t mean to be a party-pooper by saying this, but whenever I try to do a nice comment, it seems as though I’ve already said that. And I haven’t. I really like your books too.
Sincerely,
Kate
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Kate,
I’m not sure what you mean – I love to hear from you and all the other people who write comments on the blog. Have a wonderful weekend.

Daphene
Hello, Ms Harvey!
I must say that I have written to you quite a number of times! But I must ask, are you confirming to do a AM in Singapore as a book for a AM 15 or 16 book? I am also
wondering when are you confirming the details for your Singapore visits. Where or can I get more details of the new book series your writing soon?
Thank you so very much!
Sincerely,
Daphene
P.S. Have you read the Cupcake Diaries series by Coco Simon?
I also love that book series like yours!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Daphene
No, I have not yet decided on the title for Alice-Miranda 15, but it IS set back at Highton Hall, not Singapore. ! I have not thought about Alice-Miranda 16, so no promises there.
The details for my Singapore visit are taking shape-there are some school visits to be confirmed and I will certainly be at the Singapore Writers’ Festival on 5 and 6 November. Keep an eye on the website for details.
I haven’t heard of the Cupcake Diaries- perhaps it isn’t published in Australia…..
Best wishes

Hi Cassy,
I would LOVE to visit ACT in the future! However, at the moment (due to the current circumstances), I will not be doing school visits until it is safe again 🙂
Best wishes,
Jacaqueline
