I think you might have to try it a couple of times. Different devices seem to buffer in different ways. I’ll check with the tech gurus tomorrow and see if there’s anything I should do to help it along.
Hi, I’m doing an author study on you and I was wondering if there are any pictures of Sep and Lucas that you have drawn. Also I love your books and I hope you keep up the great work.
I don’t actually do the illustrations – sadly my drawing skills are pretty terrible. My illustrator, Anne Yi is very clever. I wrote a blog post a while ago that had pictures of Lucas (and I think Sep too) I’ll see if I can find it but you can go back through the posts as well.
Best wishes, Jacqueline
PS I am so thrilled that you’re enjoying the books.
hi Jacqueline i love your books so much! i have read all of them! all my friends at school also read them and during lunch and recess we all read them together!
Thank you so much for your comment- it is humbling when I read that the amazing children who inspire me to write the stories are so interested and enjoy reading the stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
Hi Ms. Harvey. I read Alice-Miranda to the Rescue a week ago and it was great! The series keeps getting better and better which is unusual-usually book series aren’t as good as they go on (The Divergent series for example) anyway I think it’s awesome that you’re planning on writing so many books in the series-you could beat the Guinness world record for longest book series ever!! I that even exists… Anyway good luck with all the books your writing! Love and best wishes, Cate xx
P.S I read the other comments and the stuff about relationships and I personally think the books should remain innocent. I’m turning fourteen and so I usually read young adult fiction but I love to read the Alice-Miranda series because they’re such fun books to read and you can always rely on them to be interesting. I love how Lucas and Jacinta like each other though. Also I thought that it was more likely that Sep and Alice-Miranda would end up together because of the comment he makes in the 7th book about how he wishes he had Alice-Miranda for a sister. I they were adults I can imagine them getting married. I hope you don’t write a book about them being adults even though that would be really interesting because it sort of ruins the fact that they’re supposed to be young and carefree. I also think Alice-Miranda and Millie’s friendship is beautiful. Everyone deserves a friendship as strong as that. Haha this is a really long Post Script… Thanks for being amazing and writing gorgeous books!! I can’t wait till the next one comes out? Maybe you could write some quizzes to keep fans occupied until them? Cate xox
Here! Here! Cate ! I agree totally, it’s the innocence that’s makes Mrs Harvey’s books attractive and pleasurable! If they begin to adopt current trends they become cheap and mundane. I love their uniqueness !! Well done Mrs Harvey’s!!
Thanks for your kind comments. I love that the books have a bit of a timeless quality about them and that’s why I don’t mention too much technology. I don’t want them to date. I love the innocence too. Although the kids are growing up a bit and wondering more about life as they get older. Don’t worry though – they won’t grow up too quickly.
Thank you for your kind words- so glad that you enjoyed ‘To the Rescue”. I had a quick check and I’m not sure that the Guinness Book of Records has a category for longest book series, other than travel guides and comics! There have been and so many wonderful writers, including Enid Blyton, whom I admire greatly, who have written so many books- not sure I will ever get there!
In the next book, the characters themselves, muse about their grown up selves, but, I agree with you, I do enjoy the innocence of children.
Dear Jaqueline Harvey, I love your books. Alice-Miranda at sea is my favourite. I live in NZ which makes it hard to get your books but I drive a hour drive to a different city so I can get the Alice-Miranda books. You should put your books into the paper pluses and whitcoulls in NZ because I know a lot of people my age that would love them. I am 11 and I love how your books are perfect because it’s hard to find a book that is age appropriate there all either to old or to young for me but the Alice-Miranda books are perfect. I love your Alice-Miranda books and hope you make millions more. You are a awesome writer. Thanks Kiki
I know that Whitcoulls in some places sell my books as I’ve seen them there. My husband and I are actually going to live for part of the time in NZ in another year or so as we are building a house just near Queenstown. We are so excited as we both love to ski and play golf (although not in the same seasons of course!).
Perhaps I will get to meet you somewhere in NZ one day!
Thanks for your kind words and I hope you keep enjoying the books.
Same. I havent read your books yet but i am in the alice mirander small story comp so i can have my name in your next book and i found this website so now i am talking to youisn’t that cool?
I hope you get to read some of the books really soon. If you don’t have them perhaps you could borrow them from your local library or school when you’re back.
Hey Jaqueline I just thought I should let you know that the video doesn’t work. It came up with “there was an error loading this resource”. I can’t wait to buy the new book. I’m probably getting it this weekend at Dymocks Macquarie. Good luck with any new books your writing! Kind regards, Cate xx
I’m not sure what the problem is for you Cate as it seems to be working for some people and not others. Maybe you could try on another device and see if it works. Good luck (and I’ll check with people who are much better with technology than me tomorrow and see if they can tell me what else I need to do). I hope you enjoy the new book.
Thanks Brent – I think for some people you’ve just got to play it through once and then it catches up with itself. It’s cute isn’t it! I cried when I heard that it was going to happen 🙂
I have all your books and I am a huge fan of your work. I am so excited to read your new book. Thanks for writing them!!! I look forward to MANY MORE. Best Wishes, Sarah
Hey Mrs Harvey. You are my most favourite author. And I have read nearly all your books. Trying to get there. Although the last book Alice-Miranda in the Alps or something like that I couldn’t find it in any of the stores I shopped at. Can any of you guys tell me where else I can look for it. And I can not wait to read the new book! It sounds so interesting. Like all the other books. Alice- Miranda is my FAVOURITE book! And I can’t wait till the other amazing books by the best author…. Mrs Harvey.
I’m so pleased that you’re enjoying the book. If your local bookshop doesn’t have Alice-Miranda in the Alps just ask them to get it in – or you could try one of the online booksellers – Booktopia is fantastic and can get it to you quick smart. Thanks for your very kind words.
Hi Jaqueline, unfortunately the ad kept on freezing up every second. I have tried reconnecting my internet and it still isn’t working. I’m sure the ad is good though! I watch the children’s channels on Foxtel so when I get home from school on Friday I’ll make sure I keep an eye out for the ad! Also just then some of it turned on and then it froze again! Have read some of the books and they are great and I can’t wait to buy Clementine Rose and the Special Promise, too!
Dear Jacqueline Harvey, AMAZING ad Jacqueline Harvey!! I can’t wait to read it! I’m hoping to get it the day it comes out. I am so happy that you’ll write at least 16 Alice-Miranda books. Alice-Miranda is my world and I love going on adventures with your imagination. Your imagination brings the words on the page to life and make me feel like Alice-Miranda and her friends are in my bedroom! I wish you all the best with the rest of the series and Clementine Rose. Best Wishes, Timna Shushan
you are an absolute sweetheart! I love that you love Alice-Miranda and her band of friends so much. I am looking forward to writing more adventures and I hope to see you when I’m in Melbourne again.
Yes I will be coming to Melbourne but I’m just waiting for the final itinerary before I post about the events – it would be lovely to see you there. I will put the information on the website and blog as soon as I know.
I know many people have already said this but I just wanted an update on when the video will be fixed so all Devies can watch if. Also I love the Alice Miranda bookstnx Gemma
Don’t feel silly – I can’t tell you the number of times I do things like that and think something’s not working properly. I’m far too impatient sometimes. Hope you enjoyed it.
Hello Jaqueline , I am a big fan of your books and yourself! I absolutely think your books are amazing and really inspiring. Your books inspire me to read more because you put so much detail and hard work into them that’s what makes them so special. Your an amazing author and have a very special talent of book writing which I would love to follow into your footsteps of. I was so excited when I met you last year at Dymocks Parramatta Westfield, it was so special and was a wish come true. I just want you to know to keep on writing because you have a very special talent. I’m so glad another book has come out because I have read all of your books and I can’t wait to read your new one.
You are so lovely – thank you for your very kind words. I feel quite overwhelmed that you love the books so much and I hope that you achieve your writing dreams too. It was lovely to meet you at Parramatta and I hope to see you again sometime.
Okay,i just have to say this, OMG! I am MIND-BLOWN! i got the pre-ordered Alice-Miranda saves the day book this morning, i finished reading it and it was AMAZING! Caprice surprised me. Lucas and Jacinta were as fabulously adorable as always. Bridezilla Reedy was hilarious! The characters seem so much more grown up. The ‘villain’of the book was a shock. The ‘sweet’ surprise house guest ( not really a guest now) was super cute! The wedding made me cry with happiness and laughter after the girls’ entrance. The wedding song was hilarious i actually nearly fell out of my chair with laughter, true story! Daniel and Becca’s story was so sad! I am now already counting down the days till the next book!
My grandmother got a massage chair and we are next door neighbors so i was listening to music and reading the new book and getting a massage and eating a sandwich and having a sparkling water with raspberry cordial so it tasted like creaming soda! The perfect recipe for heaven!
Much admiration, excitement, praise and craziness,
a huge fan, Maya
P.S, is it just me or have Millie and Sep become…close. As in, really close. As in, lucas and jacinta close. Okay, maybe not that close but you catch my drift. Am i sensing some… let’s think of a ship name…MILLISEP! It might just be me but, i don’t know. Sep is a bit older than her though. She is 11 and he is 13 or older so…
P.P.S I’m not sure how Sep can think that Lucas and Jacinta are just friends but i think it would add some drama if he liked Jacinta too. At least for a little while until something happens and he doesn’t anymore and stuff happens and Lucas and Jacinta are endgame ( which means that they would be a couple at the end of the story). Explosion!
First of all I have to say that I read your message and you made me laugh and cry (with joy!). I shared your review with my publishers and they loved it too. You mentioned all of the things I hoped kids would enjoy about the story. I’m not sure if you’re exactly on the right track with Sep and Millie – but you’ve given me something to think about.
Thanks for your incredible support – truly, it’s messages like this that make me want to write Alice-Miranda’s stories forever (and the fact that I adore her and her band of friends helps a lot too!).
I would love to put your review on the website in the reviews section about the book – is that okay?
Hi ms Harvey I am a big AM fan! Just wondering could you have Jacinta and Lucas kiss? Because every time me or my BFF Emily gets a book we say nope didn’t kiss. it would literally mean the world to me! And could you please write a bit faster because I finish AM books in one day!and please reply!
pS:please come to Australia,Queensland,Brisbane?because I have been wanting to meet you ever since I read my first AM book! And I am 9 soon to be ten in March!
Goodness, you will have to watch this space- just keep reading the books if you want to know whether the characters kiss! It is always a good thing to go back and re read books some time after you finish them- often, as you get older, there are parts to the stories that you appreciate more….that way, it won’t seem like such a long time between books. I am currently writing Alice-Miranda in China which is due out in September. I actually live in Australia and am travelling to the Somerset Festival in the Gold Coast in March! You would need to attend with a school group or ask your parents to bring you; but, be sure to come and say hello if you get there.
Yes I am – but it’s still a work in progress and it will take me a while – I’ll be working on it in between Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose this year.
biggest fan EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It took 3 goes to get yhe video up and running, but I love it! Great ad! You should make an Alice- Miranda movie! Now that is a movie that I would go and see!
Hi Jacqueline, I really love your books and your creative and really nice websites that lots of children like me enjoy. I love your competitions and hope to win this months! Also I love your new TV commercial you created. Love Meg
Thanks Kaye. I am thrilled with the ad. I must admit I didn’t have a lot to do with putting it together – the wonderful team at PRH did all the hard work. I actually cried when they told me they were doing it 🙂
Dear Jacqueline Harvey, The add is really good! I have been anxiously waiting since Alice Miranda in the alps came out. I will be getting it as soon as possible! From, Ivana A huge Alice Miranda fan!
Hi Jacqueline, I’m a huge fan of Alice Miranda! I’m hoping that Alice-Miranda will come out as a television series one day.Iv’e read the series at lest 5 times now And I can’t wait to read Alice-Miranda to the rescue. I was also wondering what your new Alice -Miranda book is about, and how many more your planning on writing.I personally hope you never stop writing them but that might be a bit selfish of me. Anyway I hope you come down to Wellington, I would love to meet you, lots of love! heena xx p.s Im a huge fan
Thanks for your comments! The TV show is still in pre-production but watch the website- I will keep everyone up to date.
I am currently writing Book 14, which will be Alice-Miranda in China. There are so many ideas swirling around in my head, I hope Alice-Miranda and her friends will be having many more adventures, but, at this stage, we have agreed to 16 .
Sadly, no plans to go to Wellington- we had the most wonderful stay at Arrowtown and Queenstown after Christmas- New Zealand is one of my favourite places!
Dear Ms Harvey, In the Clementine Rose series, is the secret of who her real mother is ever going to be revealed? Because I think I know who she is. I think Clementine’s mother is Aunt Violet’s daughter Eliza and here’s why:
1. In ‘Clementine Rose and the Movie Magic’ CR finds photos of a girl and she thinks they are of herself. Aunt Violet says they are of herself and CR noticed that they looked exactly the same. (I think they look the same because Aunt Violet’s daughter looked like Aunt Violet and Clementine looked like Eliza (Aunt Violets daughter) because Eliza was her real mother.)
2. In ‘Clementine Rose and the Surprise Visitor’ the letter that came along with Clemmie and the basket of dinner rolls was signed with an ‘E’ at the bottom of the letter. (Maybe the ‘E’ is for Eliza?)
3. In ‘Clementine Rose and the movie magic’ CR and Will creep into Aunt Violets room when she is sleeping and she talks in her sleep saying :’Eliza, would you be so kind to get Mummy a glass of water?’ So Eliza must be her daughter.
Thx for reading my long message! Lots of love and admiration, Denae. xxx PS. I can’t wait to read CR and the special promise!!!!! PPS. I also can’t wait for AM to the Rescue!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PPPS. The add was so cute!!! I loooove the illustrations!!!!!!!
You are really clever!! I don’t read clementine rose that much but I’ve read most of the books. You are so right at putting together those clue’s! You should read more books and then you might get more clue’s!!
I didn’t get to watch the video but I just signed in! I love Alice-Miranda and I have five books of it.I might win number 13 from a total girl competion. You are my favourite author and I am going to pass my Alice-Miranda’s on to my own children. You inspire me for my own story writing.I am 8.❤️ From Shari
I’ve just finished Alice-Miranda in the alps and I love it! I also love all your other books. Please reply to me!! You are my favourite author and I love Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose.I don’t have any clementine Rose’s but I love Alice-Miranda’s and I’ll try and collect all of them!!Thank’s for reading my message!❤️ From shari
Dear Jacqueline, I really LOVE your books , mum just got me Alice-Miranda to the rescue!!!! I’m reading the alps and it is AWESOME we have met a few times in the past at Wahroonga bookshop ( I gave you flowers ) and Penrith Dymocks. xoxo
I know who you are – who could forget that amazing drive all the way to Penrith from Wyong to say hello – you’re a sweetheart! I hope you enjoy the book and that school has started well. Let me know what you think.
Hello Maddi Thank you, I was kind of wondering one day if Ms Harvey would ever reveal it and then I figured it out. I have read all of the AM books and a couple CR books.(My little sister is a big CR fan and I am a MASSIVE AM fan.) i was wondering what CR and the special promise was about, since our library was yet to order it and I read the preview on the Random House Book website, and I think something is going to happen between Drew and Clarissa (They are quite close)
Hello Maddi What books do you enjoy reading? i love AM, Theodore Boone, I am Jack, Rachel Yoder, Ruby Redford, Number the stars, Mr. Stink, the boy in the dress, The Series called Pea, CR, and Emily Sparkes. How old are you? I am in grade six and I’m turning 12 at the end of November. Lots of love from massive AM fan Deane Vanderplas.
Hi Jacqueline! I just wanted to say that i’m a big fan of Alice Miranda and Clemintine Rose and that i hope you never stop writing them! I can honestly say that i’ve read your books nearly to the time where i can recite them. I’m also a huge Lucinta fan and i love how perfect they are for each other (even their relationship name is perfect!) and i love reading and observing each characters character development, especially how each character is getting more mature (especially Jacinta) and how Millie’s flaws are showing. I’ve just read about your brief plans for Alice Miranda in China and i’m in love already. I love how you might implement Jacinta for a main/side story but i’m hoping she doesn’t stray from the others (especially Lucas, hehe) but i do trust you with writing cute moments in for them (literally some of my favourite parts!). I also hope you might expand on Sep and Sloane just because we haven’t heard much from them and i love seeing them getting on in the occasional parts. Anyway, i have a few questions for you if you don’t mind; First one is if your going to continue writing for Alice and friends until their teens or even as adults? I mean, i’d be totally cool if you just gave us a few chapters about them as adults. Second one is sort of like my first one- As Alice and co get older, what jobs or professions do you think they’ll take? personally i see Alice as a detective, Millie as a horse jockey, Jacinta as a gymnast, Sloane i’m not sure, Caprice, again not sure, Lucas as an Actor and Sep maybe as a spy. However, alternatively they could all be spys (because why not!). Lastly, where these characters based on kids or people you know/met?
Anyway, thankyou for reading my comment, I hope you have a wonderful day! From a huge Alice Miranda fan and Lucinta supporter, Cassandra.
So glad that you are enjoying the books – especially the characters and relationships. Interestingly, the characters have been thinking about their adult selves at the beginning of the new book, Alice-Miranda in China, which I am currently writing. The characters are based on lots children who I have taught and met over the years, from my observations of people and from my imagination.
Hi Jacqueline I LOVE the Alice Miranda series, I have all of them and we pre ordered the 13th one to pick up tomorow on my 1st day of high school. You are such a talented writer and I can’t wait to read Alice Miranda to the rescue!!! Love micaela
Thank you- it’s cute, isn’t it! The TV show is still at the pre-production stage but, I’m certain that it will happen. Keep an eye on the website- I’ll keep everyone posted.
I really like your books. I especially like Alice-Miranda. I have all of them I got number 13 yesterday and just finished reading it it is really good. I have 1-13 of Alice-Miranda and 2-10 of Clemintine-Rose. I really want you to keep writing them and hopefully one day they get made into movies.
Thank you for your comments- I love writing about Alice-Miranda’s and Clementine Rose’s adventures too. At this stage I am planning to write 16 Alice-Miranda and 14 Clementine Rose books- but I suspect there may be more……..
Hi Ms Harvey, I love your CR books, especially the Farm Fiasco! The Alice Miranda add is really cute. I have have a couple questions I wanted to ask you. First, when did you realise that you wanted to become an author? Second, how long does it usually take you to write a Clementine Rose book? And last, where do you get your information and ideas for your books from? Lots of love from the biggest Clementine Rose fan ever Jaida. xx
So glad that you are enjoying Clemmie. I still giggle to myself over parts of the Farm Fiasco.
I decided, in primary school, that I wanted to be a teacher- inspired by a particularly wonderful teacher called Mrs Hogan; however, as a young child, I had a knack for story-telling and won a minor writing competition as a teenager. At that point I wondered- would I ever be able to write books. When I eventually became a teacher, I would write plays and stories for my students. The dream of becoming a published writer developed and, when my husband challenged me to follow my dream or always wonder, I embarked on the challenging, character building and incredible path of trying to become a published author. After some success and lots of rejection, Alice-Miranda at School was published in 2010 and, in November 2012, I became a full time writer.
Ideally, I like to have two months to write the Clementine Rose books; however, I often have ideas and scenes in my mind for some time before the books are started. On occasions, I have less time than I would like.
The inspiration for the stories comes from many of the wonderful children who I have met or taught over the years, from my travles and love for observing people and, of course, from my over active imagination.
Hi Jacqueline! Are you going to come to nar nar goon in Victoria?if you don’t know what I’m talking about it is in Melbourne in small town parts. If you come there and drive down browning road, I live in that street! I really hope you have time to come down here because I am just completely CRAZY about your books!! I just love them, love them, LOVE THEM!!! I hope to collect more in the future.Best reguard’s Shari Lee Sefton
Actually, I AM coming to Melbourne in March! We have just received some details and I will put these up on the website as soon as possible. Sadly, I am not coming to Nar Nar Goon, but keep an eye on the Events tabof the website and perhaps you could come to an event.
I can’t wait to read it! I’ve read them all and love them. You wouldn’t remember me but but signed my books at the Sydney writers festival – my name is Marianna and my sister is Emeline – I love your books! Is there going to be another?
Glad that you enjoy the books. I am currently writing Alice-Miranda in China, which is the 14th story; I have lso many ideas swirling around in my head, there is sure to be more than the 16 that I have recently agreed to write.
Hello Ms Harvey, I wanted to thank you again for putting my review on the web sight, It made me so happy! I know that Alice-Miranda in China is set to come out in September ( if there are no unexpected complications), but i was wondering what you could tell me about the book? I know it must still be a working progress but is there anything you can confirm about what is going to happen? Me and my friends are so excited for the new book. I am currently only reading the Alice-Miranda series but i may start reading the Clementine Rose series. I want to say thank you again.
Thank you for your insightful review! Yes, Alice-Miranda in China is certainly a work in progress. I have been doing lots of research on flights and sites and Chinese names; and keeping myself amused with some eccentric (new and old) characters who may not be what they seem.
Tv show looks awesome when will it be released and what channel will it be on? I would love for you to visit Sale in Gippsland one day because me and all my friends are huge fans ( you probably get that a Lot!) I introduced some of my cousins to Alice Miranda and they love it. I also did the same to my close friends and they are obsessed with it now as well. I have never had the opportunity to meet you but I am determined to talk to you face to face one day. I will do anything it takes from starting a partition for you to come to sale to traveling to your house! Please please email me about this arrangement for you to come to sale and I will stay in touch when I have the details!
I’m actually coming to Melbourne in a couple of weeks but I know that’s a long way from Sale. I’ve been there once – long before I wrote Alice-Miranda. It’s a lovely place and hopefully one day I might be able to get there again. Thanks for introducing the books to your cousins and friends – that’s so kind. The television ad was just an ad at the moment. The show is still in what they call pre-production and I will let everyone know when I have more news about that. Hope to meet you too one day!
Hello Ms Harvey, Oooh! That’s intriguing! i can’t wait to hear, or read, about all that. My best friend at school was born in Beijing and I’ve found out a lot of interesting things about China through her. They have a very interesting culture and i love all of the zodiac signs and things like that. I am so excited and have already began speculating about what might happen.
Yes, there is so much that is fascinating and intriguing about China- I am learning much through my research on the book. It is wonderful that you have a friend to teach you about another culture.
Hi Mrs. Harvey, I absolutely love your books! The only reason I actually am on this website is because I searched up on google if Agnes Wells (from Clementine Rose and the Famous Friend) was real. I figured out it would be better to ask you; you are the author. Thank you soooo much for writing this series as well as Alice Miranda. I even made clay projects sculpting them! I just want to wish you a good time writing. Always your fan, Jo By the way, I can’t wait for the new book to come out! When does the book come out in China? I’ve been waiting ages. Alice Miranda and Clementine Rose are my favourite series. I’ve read every book, and known nothing better! You’re my favourite author ever!.
Glad that you are enjoying the books- and that you took the time to research Agnes Wells, who is real in my imagination. I am in the throes of writing Alice-Miranda in China, which has been fascinating to research- No famous authors, but a very talented acrobatic troupe with a twist are the stars. It will be released on 1 September 2016.
Hi Ms. Harvey You used to teach at my school in Wahroonga. I just saw you are going to meet up on Friday in Wahroonga. Unfortunatley my school doesn’t end at 3pm, otherwise I would love to come!
Hi ms Harvey, I am your best AM and CR fan. I also loved the video and for some reason most other people when they viewed it it didn’t work. I was thinking about who Clementine’s mum is then I thought Eliza so then I thought that great aunt violet must be her grandmother if so. I was also thinking about the new AM book I know it wil be called Alice-Miranda in China but when is it coming out question mark the question mark button doesn’t work on the iPad for me. Also when is AM and CR going to meet each other again. Thanks jasmine PS I should have put a question mark after again but it doesn’t work.
It sounds like you’re doing some interesting detective work there! I don’t want to spoil anything for the readers so I’m not going to say another word! Alice-Miranda in China will be out on the 1st September. I’m glad that the video worked for you and you are enjoying the stories. I’m working on AM in China at the moment and the children have just arrived in Shanghai for a couple of days of sightseeing. There are already plenty of mysteries happening :).
I love you Jaqueline Harvey! When I first saw your first book Alice Miranda at School I just knew I would love it! Every time I read your books, I feel as if I am in the story too. You are by far my favourite author!
I absolutely LOOOOOVVVVEEEE Alice Miranda books and I am waiting to get a copy of Alice-Miranda to the Rescue. I love the video! I am looking forward to Alice-Miranda in China and I hope there will be many more to come. You are my favourite author and Alice-Miranda is my favourite character ever!!!!
Hi Miss Harvey, I just love your books to bits, especially the Alice-Miranda series! I’ve been reading all of them since I was 7, I’m 12 and 3/4 now. I’ve read 13 at least 4 times by now, I just love it! The others have to be around 8 times. I’m very excited to hear that you’re going to be at Somerset College, because I go to hcc just down the road. Hoping to visit you there. Could I bring all 13 Alice- Miranda books for you to sign, or would that be too much? I’ve also asked a few English teachers if you could come to the school, because a lot of the younger children read Clementine Rose. Kind regards, Amelia
PS: I freaked out when I first read AM because her best friends name is Millie! It’s my nickname, because my real name is Amelia (another coincidence)!
Yes of course you can bring your whole collection of books to be signed! I love meeting my readers and it sounds like you are truly dedicated to Alice-Miranda and her friends. You must know the books inside and out and backwards having read them so many times!
I look forward to meeting you and make sure that you tell me you’re ‘the Amelia’ from the blog.
Yes my school is in Queensland and there is a teacher in my school that looks so much like you! Her name is Jane Duncombe and unlike you she has curly hair.
I so wish alice-miranda and milli, Jacinta, Lucas, sepand solane were real!
I feel so dumb I had no idea you lived in Australia! I thought you lived in America! I AM AN IDIOT!!!
My birthday is in 4 days! I will turn ten!
I need to wash my hair.TWO REASONS 1. Tomorrow is school photos. 2. A boy named jack was eating a muffin. Then he threw it . IT LANDED IN LILLIAN’S HAIR AND THEN IN MINE,!!!,!!!!!
And it was covered in boy slobber and ten he ate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,! TOTALLY GROSE OUT!
Good news my crush was staring at me in class! just asking old you write a bit faster?
In my heart they are all real! I love them so much. Please don’t feel silly about not knowing where I am from. Lots of readers think I’m English too. It must be your birthday today is it? Mine is tomorrow – the 13th of March. Have a wonderful day! I’m sure your hair is looking lovely again.
Book 14 is set in Hong Kong and China and is about going on a school exchange tour and having a home stay with a really interesting family. There’s lots of excitement and of course some villains and loads of laughs I hope as well.
I’m sure that my ever so clever publicist, Zoe and I will find a very special way to launch Alice-Miranda in China. No firm plans at yet, but I will post updates on the website as soon as we have something finalised
Hi ms Harvey, I am a big AM fan and I heard you were going to stop on book 14 is that true? I hope not and if it is can you write a new series of books? I am starting high school this year and i would love you to come and visit Alfred Deakin High sometime.Love from Chris
No I’m not stopping at 14. There will be at least another 2 after that but I don’t want to stop either so as long as the fans keep reading I don’t think I’ll stop writing!
Dear Ms Harvey , thank you for replying,I am relived you are not stopping at book 14 because I love them so much! Love from Chris XOX P.S are you stopping by Canberra sometime soon?
I’m not sure if I’ll be in Canberra anytime soon but you never know – there was some talk of a Canberra trip being a possibility. Hopefully not too far away.
Hi Jacqueline! I got the email for the morning tea thing and I’m defiantly coming! Except my mum will wait outside. Yesterday I got book number 10 ( yes, I only have book’s number 7,8,9,20,11 and 12.) But I’m still trying to collect more book’s, to finish the collection. I was going to get book number 13, except I remembered that I might win it, and I can’t buy it in till I am definite that I’ve won number 13. I love your books, and I can’t wait to meet you this weekend! From, ️Shari P.S I’m turning 9 this year, and I’m probably going to still be reading AM when I turn 16. By!
I really I enjoyed the school visit a few days ago, you were pretty funny. I can’t wait for Alice Miranda in China to come out! I ordered your latest Alice Miranda book. (can’t wait!) the trailer for Alice Miranda is pretty cool.
I had a really fun time at your School and I have most certainly thanked Ella. You are very lucky; you go to a lovely School. Thank YOU for your kind words- I hope you enjoy the books!
Hi Jacqueline, I am so in love with your books!!! I think that there should be a movie or Tv show about Alice Miranda. I was just wondering what the next book is called – I can’t wait for it to come out!!!! I was in hospital for 10 months and you books really gave me something fun to do! Love Eve
Thank you for your kind words. Actually, Alice-Miranda has been signed to be made into a TV series. I have been really excited to read a couple of scripts but, I’m told, by people who know about these things, that TV series’ take quite a long time to actually make it to the small screen- I will certainly post updates on my website…but, nothing to announce, just yet!
The next adventure for Alice-Miranda and her friends is Alice-Miranda in China. The children are on a School tour, soaking up the history, culture and vastness of China, with some acrobatics and intrigue thrown in. The book will be released on 1 September.
Hi Jaqueline Harvey my name is Harriet I love the video you have put out on the Alice Miranda blog are you going to make a tv series of the Alice Miranda books? love from Harriet P.S do you have any pets?
Thanks – I still get a smile when I have a sneaky peak at the Commercial. It’s so exciting. The commercial has been showing on Foxtel Kids Channels.
and yes, I am planning a trip to Adelaide later in the year. Keep an eye on my website for details and ask your teacher to make contact through my website; perhaps we can arrange a visit!
Hi Jacqueline Harvey i love all of your books!!! i have read all of your books at least 2,3 or 4 times i love them! I’ve even read your 13th one 2 times. i hope you keep writing more and more books i love them so much and even though your 13th one only came out 5 weeks ago i am so excited for September when Alice Miranda in china comes out!!! Ever since i have started to read them last year i have improved my grades so much!!! i love all your books so much and you are such an inspiration to me! keep writing such amazing books Micaela xx
Thank you for your kind words; it is humbling as an writer to hear that the children who inspire me to write enjoy reading the stories as much as I enjoy writing them. To hear that my books have helped you develop a love of reading (and learning) is a wonderful gift!
I have so many ideas for stories, characters, mysteries and plots swirling around in my head, I suspect that I will be writing for quite some time!
Dear Jacqueline Harvey, I absolutely love your books and I have read them all (including “To The Rescue”)! I just wanted to ask a few questions if that is all right. Who is your publisher and how lond does it take you to write an Alice-Miranda book? I can’t wait until Alice-Miranda in China is released. It is so lovely how kind and caring Alice-Miranda is! They are my favourite books and I hope to see many more. I usually read young adult fiction but this series is my favourite. I hope to write my own book series! Love one of you No.1 fans, Zoe xx
I’m so glad that you are enjoying the books. The series’ are published by Penguin Random House and, to be honest, I couldn’t do what I do without the extremely talented people there. It probably takes up to a few months to write one of the Alice-Miranda adventures- I tend to get ideas and research for quite a while before I commit words to paper; but, writing, proofing, editing, reviewing incredible covers and illustrations and all the final touches, takes up to 2-3 months.
I am currently in the final stages of writing Alice-Miranda in China, which has a release date of September 2016. it has been fascinating and so much fun writing this one!
The inspiration for the stories comes, mainly, from my imagination. I’ve been told that I do have a rather overly active imagination! As an writer, I am so lucky to be able to indulge two of my passions- travel and the observation of people (or people watching). Many of Alice-Miranda and her friends’ adventures are set in some of my favourite places; and, many of the characters and situations are inspired by real life people and situations which I have observed over the years.
I am very excited because soon, you are coming to my school- Scotch Oakburn College in Launceston Tasmania- and the Writer’s Festival! I am a Year 5 student at Scotch and this term our focus is Leadership. We are doing a self directed inquiry on the topic and I have chosen fictional leaders. I thought your characters are great leaders to me so I decided to write to you. Today I have a few questions for you. They are:
– Are your characters based on other people? – Did you write about these characters, hoping that they would motivate readers to act like them and believe in them? – If you could choose one of your characters to be your best friend or sidekick, who would it be?
I am very excited to be coming to Tasmania and your School, Scotch Oakburn, next week! Thank you so much for selecting some of the characters whom I write about as your fictional leaders.
The inspiration for both the stories and characters come, mainly, from my imagination. As an writer, I am so lucky to be able to indulge two of my passions- travel and the observation of people (or people watching). Many of Alice-Miranda and her friends’ adventures are set in some of my favourite places; and, many of the characters are inspired by real life people whom I have met (and in some cases, taught) over the years.
When I starting thinking about a little girl with chocolate girls who would become Alice-Miranda, I wanted to create a character who was positive and upbeat- whose sunny disposition and good humour was matched by her determination. It was never an intention to motivate or inspire but, certainly, there is a moral or lesson in each book. One example is that Alice-Miranda treats everyone fairly and looks for the good in everyone. Not bad traits to aim for…… I was once told that “Alice-Miranda is the best version of who you want to be”- I adored the description and hope that she lives up to it!
I often feel, when I am writing the stories, that I have two very positive little girl friends sitting over my shoulder telling me what to write- but, to be honest, I love all of the characters and wouldn’t be able to choose which of them would be my favourite. It would depend on the circumstances- and what my “sidekick” was supposed to do!
Alice Miranda to the rescue is really good and I can’t wait for the next one to come out( Alice-Miranda in China). I love your characters and I wish Alice-Miranda was real. I LOVE all of your books and all of them are as good as each other which is really uncommon for a series. You are the best author ever!!!!!!!
I love your books so much and I’ve got a book report due tomorrow and i’m doing one of your books it is Alice-Maranda in the alps and im having so much fun doing it is it true your stopping at 14 cause if it is please don’t I love hearing about your books coming out and I think you are really amazing Love you and your books sincerely
my name is Destiny and I am a really big fan I love how you right your books is it true are you stopping at 14 if you are please don’t because there are a lot of people out there (including me ) who love reading your books and don’t want you to stop I would love you to come to my school which I wont name just yet Best of luck with your next book
Thanks for you kind words; I’m flattered that you have enjoyed the books. I will reply to all your posts in this one.
At this stage, I have agreed to write 14 Alice-Miranda and 12 Clementine Rose books, as well as a new series, which I have been thinking about for awhile now. I am enjoying writing the books (I sometimes wonder whether I enjoy writing them more than the readers enjoy reading them) and I am loving the characters and relationships so much, that I suspect that you will be reading about the girls’ adventures for quite some time.
Hope that you get a copy of Alice-Miranda to the Rescue for your birthday and have a happy day!
Hi! I’m so sorry that I didn’t come to Sandringham! I was really looking forward to it, but I got sick on the day and mum said Sandringham was two hours away. If you go to Melbourne, then I will probably come there by train. I can’t wait for the Alice- Miranda series, but will Alice- Mirandas voice be American or Australian? And can you put it on ABC 3 or go? Because if you put it on Disney channel or Disney XD or something on Foxtel, I wil only be able to watch Alice-Miranda at my Nan’s house, and she lives 4 hours away, so it would be really annoying since I am a pretty big fan. I am so excited for the Alice- Miranda TV show series( if you end up making one, or it could be to much work) because I just love Alice-Miranda and ever since I read book number 7( my first ever Alice-Miranda book) I’ve wanted a TV series to come on TV because when you love a book as much as I love Alice-Miranda, you just wish that you can watch the characters and settings instead of creating the picture in your mind while you read. Bye for now! P.S is it going to be real people or cartoons? P.P.S will you make DVD’s of it as well as the TV show?
I love to visit schools and you can ask your librarian to get in touch with me and perhaps I can put you on the tour list sometime in the future. I usually have to plan a long way out though – so it wouldn’t be until next year.
Hi Jacquline! My friend Ella at rosebud says I’m a bookworm ( which is a really, really true fact, and I read at least 20 or more books at a time and my head doesn’t get confused) and she says that she’ll kill me if I read another book. It is getting quite annoying now, and I told my mum. Do you have any advice?( I also have my head stuck in a book or a writing book, writing my own stories) Bye!
Being a bookworm is a great thing. Ella might just be feeling a little left out – perhaps you should encourage her to read one of the same books you’re reading so you can talk about it together? It’s always important to set aside time for friends as well as the other things you love so, perhaps there can be time for reading and time for talking and playing together. It’s good that you’re talking to your mum about it as well – I’m sure that she has some great advice. Mothers usually do.
hi jacqueline i love your books they are really good. you will see me at my school scotch oak burn next week on thursday love layla. ps please mention my name thank you. 🙂
I’m glad that you are enjoying the books and very much looking forward to my visit to Tasmania and your School next week! Why don’t you come up and say Hi!
hi its sophie bond here, I really really want to read the whole alice-miranda series online.I’ve tried everything. I have 4 of your books. I am your biggest fan of your books. thanks again sophie bond xoxo
You can buy the Alice-Miranda series as e-books and also you can now get the first five as audio books too. You can’t download them for free though as that’s illegal and although there are sites that might indicate you can, please don’t touch them, as they often infect your computer with a virus. As an author the only way we can make money is to sell our books so if they are given away for free, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do anymore and we’d all have to get other jobs!
Perhaps you can find the books in your school or local library.
Hi Jacqueline!, My name is Hope, and even though I just started reading your series, I am enjoying them very much. I hope that everyone who now reads your books keeps on doing it because I know that me and my friends want to see more of your amazing work soon. PS, I saw you today at somerset writers and you were my favorite author your speech was so interesting. And by the way, did you ever see Peter again?!?! 😉
Thanks you for your kind words- I hope people keep enjoying the books too! What a fabulous time it has been at Somerset- in my day no one had the opportunity to actually meet authors, let alone have a chance to hear them speak. It’s flattering that you enjoyed my talk.
I’ve met Peter’s son and heard that he is married and has a lovely wife and children. I was very pleased to know that.
hi Jacqueline:) I had all ready done an email for you after i told my mum the email i typed in when she told me i that i did the wrong email sorry(:. Your books are fabulous they are my favourite books. You will see me next week at Scotch Oakburn College in Launceston Tasmania. Love layla. ps please mention me when you come, I am in Year 3 Jones. That would be lovely 🙂
I am Rebecca and I am from Africa. but I live in NZ I am such a fan of your Alice-Miranda’s! I Just got Alice-Miranda to the rescue two days ago but I haven’t finished it yet. I can’t wait till the next one.
p.s I also read clementine rose, It’s so cool that Carissa and drew got engaged.
I love New Zealand – in fact, so much so, that my husband and I are buying a block of land in Queenstown! We are planning to build a house there and go over for several months of the year. Hope you’re enjoying Alice-Miranda to the Rescue. I love the Clarissa and Drew storyline in Clemmie too.
Thanks for your lovely comments and I’m glad you are enjoying the books. The television series is still in the production phase – these things seem to take such a long time but, whether and where it will be shown or not depends on who buys it. Sadly, it’s not for me to decide whether TVNZ will. I will certainly update the website with news, as soon as I hear!
hi Jacqueline Harvey I heard you had a horse called moo moo and a Labrador from somebody called Hope on this blog I am very greatful she said so I would love to hear from you soon and I love your books you are a great writer lots of love Harriet P.S how did you start writing? what was your first book called?
That’s true I had a horse called Moo Moo and a Labrador called Suzie. They were both colourful characters. I started writing stories when I was very young but I think I became a really good story teller long before that. I decided to try and write stories for publication about 15 years ago and my husband was really supportive of my giving it a ‘proper go’. After all, it would have been much worse never to have tried at all than to have tried and for it to now work out so well.
My first ever published book was called Code Name Mr Right but I don’t think it’s available anymore and I’m not terribly sad about that as I think I’ve become a much better writer over the years.
Hi Jacqueline I am a massive fan and have collected all the books right through to book thirteen I love Alice-Miranda she has been my inspiration for so many things and has told me to never stop trying before I was really shy and the I read the book. I have also read your picture book sounds of the seas or something like that.i am hopefully Meating you on Wednesday 16 of March with my class at Saint Michaels colligate.
Kind regards Luca P.s you have inspired and my best friend we have both read and got them all
Hi Jacqueline I sending a message through this but it seemed it didn’t work any way I have collected all the Alice-Miranda books right through to book thirteen and have read them all the news that you are publishing at least sixteen makes me want to jump up and down with exitement the Alice-Miranda books inspired me to do things I never thought i could do my best friend has also read all the books and has also collected them all to. We are going on an excursion on Wednesday the 16 of March to saint Michaels colligate and are extreamly excited to meet you when we found out we were really excited and suprised because we were just sitting on the mat listening to the newsletter in back of class when we heard the teacher say that we are going on an excursion and we thought that might be cool and then she told us it was to go and see you we ended up standing and jumping with our hands up and almost in tears you are my favourite author and I can’t wait to meet you. Kind regards Luca P.s I think I need to work on my grammer.
I am so excited to be visiting Tasmania next week and I have to tell you that reading your message this morning made me smile and almost cry tears of joy. Your enthusiasm is wonderful! I am really looking forward to meeting you at Collegiate. It’s wonderful that Alice-Miranda has inspired you – she inspires me all the time too.
Looking forward to seeing you!!
Best wishes, Jacqueline
PS Today is my birthday and your message was a wonderful present.
thank you so much Jacqueline Harvey for writing back to me we have lots of animals too first there is Louie the bull calf he is about 456 kg then the 8 chickens and daisy the cow and the adopted calf Bella and our Shetland pony Tiny plus the old race horse neddy who lives at our big farm and last but not least our two dogs scout and scruffy hope to hear from you soon from Harriet
Clementine Rose and the Paris Puzzle is due to be released at the end of June 2016. There isn’t a Clementine Rose Diary- but have you seen the Busy Day Book?
Hi Jacqueline, I cannot even thank you enough for writing the Alice-Miranda and Clementine-Rose book series. I love the way you have created your own kind of “Perfect world” where everyone goes to Boarding schools, people live in big houses and everyone has interesting and unique names. Whenever I am sad or just need to have a break from “Our world” I can just rely on getting lost into an Alice-Miranda book and forgetting everything else. I really do wish there was someone just like Alice-Miranda that I knew! because she is my role model and if I’m ever in a tricky situation I think “What would Alice-Miranda do?. I wish that girls these days were as accepting and nice as she is! I have been reading Alice-Miranda books since the first one came out. I am now fourteen years old but I still beg my mum to get them for me at the bookshops because I cannot get enough of them! Words cannot describe how much I love them, I love the ideas, the characters just everything about this utterly wonderful world that you have created through these characters! I just want to disappear and become one of the characters in your books and just never come back again! I really hope that you write more! One idea I thought about last night for another idea would be if an exchange student came to Winchesterfield-Downsfordvale or even if Alice-Miranda went on exchange. I go to a school very similar to Alice-Miranda’s but I have always wanted to go to Boarding school!
Your message really touched me a lot. I love that you have continued reading the books and that Alice-Miranda is such a big part of your life. I agree – I wish more people (not just children) behaved as kindly towards one another as Alice-Miranda. I’m actually working on Alice-Miranda in China at the moment and the kids are going on exchange for a week to a school called the Bright Star Academy. It’s not a boarding school though, so they have to do homestay which proves really interesting. Thank you for your beautiful words – they mean a lot to me. Hope you have a lovely Easter break and a fun school holiday.
Hi, I am really excited as I think I may be able to meet you tomorrow. I like the video above and all of the animals – especially the dog. I read some of the Alice-Miranda books when I was younger and I loved them. I need to read them again, as I cannot really remember what happened in them. I like English though I am not sure if I am better at English or Maths. How did you come up with the name Alice-Miranda? I always find it hard to think of a name and character profile before writing a story. Do you plan your novels or just see what happens as you write them? Do you plan the characters with sketches and choose a name to suit their personality? Did you always intend on becoming such a well known author? Cannot wait to hear or possibly meet you!
I hope that we got to meet – I’m racking my brain as I met so many lovely children in Tasmania the other week. It was a bit of a whirlwind! I loved Collegiate – what a wonderful school you go to. I hope I might have answered some of your questions when I was there but yes I am more of a planner in that I plan the big ideas and like to have the ending a little bit sorted out before I start. I never imagined I would become a well known author – although I know I hoped I would. Alice-Miranda was originally going to be just Miranda then I thought she could be Miranda-? but I didn’t like any of the names I came up with and in the end I had Miranda-Alice on my white board and I flipped it and it was perfect.
Dear Ms Harvey. I really enjoyed meeting you yesterday in Hobart. Thank you for signing my sister and my books. I love how you have made Alice Miranda a kind, happy, bubbly, caring, problem solver, positive, outgoing, persevering, smart girl. Alice Miranda is my role model and I look up to you with great admiration because you have created her. I think that everyone can learn from Alice Miranda that on our worst days we can still smile anyway. Smiling, from Denae.x
Hi Mrs Harvey I just saw you today in Tasmania at the speech you did at St Michaels Collegiate School it was very good and I enjoyed it and you commercial is great can’t wait to read the books From Danica
Hi Jacqueline Harvey Thank you for writing back to me I am 9 years old turning ten very soon! What is the bust day book all about? How many more alice Miranda books and clementine rose books are you going write? Love Harriet
The Busy Day Book is like an activity book loaded with fun things to do. I will write at least 14 Clemmie and 16 Alice-Miranda books at this stage but I think there will be more.
Dear Ms Harvey, This TV commercial is fantabulous!(fantastic and fabulous)I don’t know how you think of great ideas like this! Please make many more!I have also just read Alice-Miranda to the rescue and OMG! I loved it! I don’t know how you think of great characters and dogs like Farrah Fawcett and Fudge/Molly. I hope I am a great writer like you one day
Dear Ms Harvey, This TV commercial is fantabulous!(fantastic and fabulous)I don’t know how you think of great ideas like this! Please make many more!I have also just read Alice-Miranda to the rescue and OMG! I loved it! I don’t know how you think of great characters and dogs like Farrah Fawcett and Fudge/Molly. I hope I am a great writer like you one day. I also can’t wait for the television commercial! Its going to be superb! P.S.I was a bit disappointed when I heard the TV series was going to be on a Kids Foxtel Channel. But its not your fault!
Glad that you liked the commercial. I think it’s adorable too. You will be happy to know that when the television series is made it will be on free to air – not Foxtel. I can’t tell you any more details just yet as it’s a big secret with the people who are making it but I can tell you that. I’m glad that you enjoyed the new book. It was such a fun one to write with all those crazy characters.
I’d better get on with writing Alice-Miranda in China – I need to do so much writing this weekend and I’m way behind.
Hi Jacqueline Harvey , I am one of your biggest fans and I am reading Alice Miranda on holidays.(it is a amazing book) I just wanted to let you know that it would be amazing to have a Alice Miranda movie and a clamitine rose movie as well.Love talking to you. From your biggest fan.
Hi Maryam Khan Did you know, that Jacqueline Harvey had a Horse called Moo moo and a Labrador called Suzie. I love her books too. My favourite book is Clementine Rose and the Ballet break in from Harriet.
In Clementine Rose’s book called Movie Magic I want to know who is Eliza I have read Birthday Emergency before but it doesn’t say who Eliza is I think it’s Aunt Violet’s child.
P.S I love your books Soooooo much they’re the best.
Hi, My name is Amaya and I am your biggest fan. I met you at a book store and you signed my Alice-Miranda book.I have been reading your books since I was just 6 years old. I love reading your books because they are so adventure packed and fun. I have a question, how do you come up with those brilliant names like Alice-Miranda Highton Smith kennington jones. Now I will tell you a bit about myself, I am 9 years old,I love reading and I go to Trevallyn Primary School Tasmania.Thank you for reading this and good luck with the books. Bye.
I’m so pleased that I was able to meet you in Tasmania. I had a lovely time there – it’s such a pretty part of Australia. I spend a long time thinking about the names in the books. Alice-Miranda’s name was originally just going to be Miranda and then it ended up as Alice-Miranda and the reason she has such a long surname is because it’s a combination of her parents’ name and they didn’t want to leave any out. I just thought it would be fun and a bit over the top. It also makes her different. I hope you get to do lots of reading over the Easter break and then in the upcoming school holidays. I’m working on a book this weekend and trying to catch up on lots of paperwork.
Hi Jacqueline Harvey for Easter we are staying at my grandparents house at the sunshine coast. What are you doing for Easter and the Holidays? from Harriet.
I am working on Alice-Miranda in China at home over the Easter break and getting ready to go to Perth tomorrow. It sounds like your holiday might be a bit more relaxing than mine. I’m trying to get on top of all my work.
Hi Jacqueline Harvey, I really enjoy reading the Alice-Miranda books, they are really good! I love all the characters and how each story has different parts of a mystery (though I usually can’t figure them out til the end)! Since Alice-Miranda doesn’t live in Australia, could you possibly write an Alice-Miranda in Australia? That would be awesome! I’m nearly 13 and I like classics (Treasure Island, White Fang), but I really also enjoy the AM series. I really like how the stories are romantic but in a younger sort of way; compared to books like Divergent or Hunger Games where it is uItra-romantic life-or-death kind of thing I definitely prefer AM! Also, I like the unusual names, well not that unusual but sort of special 🙂 for example my name sounds very uncommon but if I was Italian then it would be more common. PS: Personally I don’t think you should write anything about them as adults because it kinda spoils them being kids… that doesn’t really make sense but yeah 🙂 PPS: I like the idea of them as teenagers! PPPS: Please write heaps more AM books, I love them! I really want to be a writer when I grow up PPPPS: You are a great author PPPPPS: That was a REALLY long comment From Milena
I’m so pleased that the mysteries are tricky to figure out as I love reading stories where it takes until the end for all the pieces to fall together. I work hard on that as I hate when it’s too obvious. I have been thinking about an Alice-Miranda in the Outback adventure but I think there are some others still to come before that. The romance in the stories is sweet – in the book I’m writing at the moment – Alice-Miranda in China, Jacinta is questioning whether Lucas really likes her or not and she’s worried that things will change as they get older. I like that she’s concerned about this but Millie and AM set her straight! I will be writing a lot more AM books. Thanks for your kind words and I’m thrilled that you are enjoying the books. All the best with your own writing too.
Hi Jacqueline We have a few statements, This is a little bit cheeky but my sister wants to know when Lucas and Jacinta will kiss. We both love the AM series and were also wondering if there could possibly be a Alice – Miranda in the Outback. Alice Miranda in China sounds amazing. We love the fact that in Alice Miranda at Camp Lucas chooses Jacinta for his canoeing group. I love the AM series and would love to see loads more books. I can’t stop reading them. Questions – Where is the story based ? Like where she lives and the school is ( England or America ? ) What is the name of the next book and when is it coming out? How do you create the cover pages of the AM books ? Theyre really good. What is your favourite Alice Miranda book so far? Is the TV show going to be animated or real? Could one of the books be AMs birthday and something else of course. How old is AM at the moment? I’ve got loads more questions but i don’t want to bore you with them at the moment. Have a nice rest of Easter Holiday, I Live in Australia but I am currently in England. Thankyou for your time It would be amazing if you answered these questions. From Lily and Alice
Hi Lily, Well, you might like to pass onto Alice that she may not have to wait too much longer for the ‘big event’ – but it might not all be smooth sailing! But that’s all I can say at this stage.
Where is the story based ? I’ve never said in which country Alice-Miranda lives. I leave that up to the imagination of the reader. What is the name of the next book and when is it coming out? !st September 2016 Alice-Miranda in China is coming out. How do you create the cover pages of the AM books ? A very talented illustrator named Anne Yi does all the illos for Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose. Now, this is true story, we never met each other (or sent emails to each other) until we’d done over 10 books together – all discussions took place between my editor and Anne. We finally met at the launch of Alice-Miranda in Paris and we’re best of friends now. What is your favourite Alice Miranda book so far? I don’t have a favourite; they’re my children and I love them equally. Is the TV show going to be animated or real? It looks like it will be animated. Could one of the books be AMs birthday and something else of course? Yes, I’ve been thinking about a birthday. How old is AM at the moment? She’s turning 9.
Now, I best get back to finishing Alice-Miranda in China or it won’t be ready in time for September. Best wishes, Jacqueline.
Hi Jacqueline I love the AM series and cant wait for more. I’ve got my nose down in number 13 a the Moment for the 3rd time. I hope you can make more than 14 books ( maybe 25 ) every time I finish one I just want to start another 🙂 Yours sincerely Alice Please reply
Hi Alice, Thanks for those lovely words. I’m almost finished the 14th book, and I can assure you there will be more – Alice-Miranda still has many stories to tell me and share. Best wishes, Jacqueline.
Hi Jacqueline Harvey When do you head off to Perth? Will you still keep replying to the blog while you are in Perth? We are Holidaying at the beach. What are you going to do in Perth? I hope you write more………..BOOK’S.
Thankyou so much For replying Jacqueline We were both very excited when you replied, though Alice is a bit excited that we choose our own country though we’ve done some research and we think that she lives in England just out of London.
Thankyou for answering our questions, we feel as if we’ve been let into a secret organisation and been told all the secrets. We both cannot wait until AM 14 and many more to come.
To Jaqueline Harvey, I love Your books, especially Alice Miranda! I finished reading Alice Miranda to the rescue a few days ago and I loved it! I’m coming to see you this afternoon and I’m so excited! I have got seven of your books so far so I still have six more to collect but I was wondering should I bring all the books I have for you to sign or just one? From one of your biggest fans Emma
Hi jacqueline! I have read all your books and I really think they they are fabulous! My favourite one is Alice-Miranda at the palace. Alice-Miranda is very lucky to have gone to the palace. I wonder if I will ever meet the queen… Anyway, I really can’t wait until Alice-Miranda at China comes out-I’m sure it will be superb. I also really want to send a book to the publisher(Im ten). I read a book where a girl sent a book to the publisher at the age of eight, and ever since then, i’ve been making a story. And i want to thankyou for having a name genarator or I would never have a name. Before I finish, I would like to ask a question. Did you always want to be a writer? Even when you were young? Did you send a book to a publisher when you were small?
It’s wonderful that you’re enjoying the books and fantastic that you want to be a writer. I wanted to write but when I was young I had no idea how you’d ever go about being published. It’s true that some children have been published but the work has to be of a really high standard. I never sent anything to a publisher when I was small (I think mostly because I didn’t have the foggiest idea about publishing and I wasn’t writing anything that was worthy of publication). It sounds like you’re working really hard though so you never know if a publisher might want to take you on.
I’ve never actually said where she lives as I like the readers to make up their own minds – it could be Australia, it might be England or perhaps it’s a made up place – entirely up to you!
To Jaqueline Harvey, I LOVE your books, especially Alice Miranda! I just finished reading number 13 and I loved it! I have seven Alice Miranda books and I have enjoyed reading them all and can’t wait to collect the whole series. From one of your biggest fans Emma
Thank you for replying to my last comment:-) My family and I really enjoyed meeting you as well… It was great fun!! I am just in the middle of reading AM shows the way for the fourth time … I love the books so much and always will, I don’t think there’s any chance of me “growing out of the books”.! I really can’t wait for the next AM book… from what you have said about it, it sounds really good and I can’t wait to discover the really cute Lucinta moments!!!!!!! Thanks for the Easter wishes and I hope you had a great one too. From a MASSIVE Jacqueline Harvey, AM + CR fan Denae.x PS. are you ever going to make Fern, Tarquin and Liam Sharlan come up again in any of your coming books? PPS. All the best on finishing the AM and CR books!!!
Is the last book going to be them as teenagers? Can AM visit a farm or find a secret passage in the school? With your spy series how many books will you write? When will you come back to Sydney?
I live in Sydney so I’m here whenever I’m not travelling! I like the idea of AM visiting a farm and in fact the next book after China I think will see her going home and they have a farm. Secret passages are always a great option. I’m not sure how old the kids will be when I finish the series. The spy series will initially have four books – I think I’ve signed up for that many already but if kids like them then I think there will be loads more. Am has a long surname because it’s a combination of her mother’s and father’s surnames which were already hyphenated and they didn’t want to give her some without the others.
Dear Denae and Jacqueline Harvey what about CR and the the secret of the caves? and………………………………………………………………………………….. AM on adventure? What do you think?………………………………………. From Harriet.
Hi Miss Harvey, I just wanted to say thanks for making me laugh and smile with the Alice-Miranda books they have helped me a lot when I’m upset. You are an amazing author and just thanks. From, Lilly P.S If you could maybe consider Millie and Sep having secret crushes on each other that would be amazing Bye!
Thank you so much for your beautiful words- it’s so lovely for any of us to be able to immerse ourselves in the imaginary world of fiction and just “be”! It is so very flattering that my writing makes you laugh and smile; one of the reasons that I love writing about Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose is that they make me laugh and smile too!
Dear Jacqueline Harvey, I am hoping to get clementine rose no. 11 for my birthday which is very soon………………………….. How many more Clementine Rose books will you write?
I am a HUGE Lucinta fan and I would really really really want to see some balcony romance with them. I can’t wait until the next book aka book 14 and here are some questions.
1. What is the closest event to October the 18th that you are hosting.
2. You don’t have to answer this one but what is your favourite AM book?
3. How many books are you hoping to write? PLEASE answer!
4.Could you come to Mary Immaculate Primary School Quakers Hill because I would REALLY appreciate it.
There’s some really interesting things happening with Lucinta in the next book. Jacinta is having all sorts of worries and Lucas is really in the dark about what’s the matter. There’s a fun scene in a restaurant where things come to a head. I’ve written something really cute (which I hope my editor leave in!).
I’m actually going to be flying to Hong Kong from Manchester in the UK on the 18th October. I’ll be doing some Australian events in September to celebrate the new book and then I will be overseas for 5 weeks in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. I’ll be doing events in the lead up to Christmas. I don’t have a favourite AM book – I love lots of things about them all. And I will be writing at least 16 Alice-Miranda books (and probably more). I’d love to come to your school. You should get your librarian to see if she can book me at some stage.
Thank you Jacqueline Harvey for being not only an amazing writer, but a person who is motivating and an inspiration for all young kids, just like me, who have big dreams about writing books. If I do ever release a book, which I hope I do, I hope you will read it.
Thankyou for being awesomely talented, humourous and always having amazing use of wordplay in your books. Best wishes for the year ahead and happy belated wishes for your birthday.
It could be like they go to India and meet Prince Shivaji, who was mentioned in a few of the books. It could include something about a scandal about royalty or monarchy or something. Also, maybe it could include some mischievous monkey and a couple of new friends. Here are a few Indian names that I fount and think AWESOME. – Deepti – Aditi (Because it’s Indian and mine:)! – Mira
I love your ideas and it was great to meet you the other day. I’d love to do an India book – I just need to go there for the research! They’re great names too.
Hi Jacqueline! I have a YouTube channel that I started yesterday. It’s mostly about toys and Lego and Playdough, but I made Tuesday a day called Book Tuesday, and that’s when I review books. I promise my first book Tuesday will be a video of my Alice- Miranda collection. Next Tuesday, I’ll hopefully have the video up, and if you want to watch it, just type up into the search engine, ️Shari Sefton and when that comes up go to the videos tab and scroll down to find the video that should have the title, Book Tuesday: My Alice-Miranda collection. I hope you enjoy my video!
From Shari.
P.S I’ll make sure I do it in a light room, because some of my videos that don’t go on YouTube turn really dark.
That sounds fantastic – I’ll have to check it out. I’m actually loading a whole lot of clips to You Tube right at the moment. I made vlog posts for the answers to questions kids sent for the May competition. I know what you mean about finding the right light. I wander around my house with the iPad in my hand finding just the perfect spot (and it’s not always that perfect!).
Hey Mrs Harvey. You are my most favourite author. And I have read nearly all your books. Trying to get there. I haven’t read Alice-Miranda in Paris, I cant find it anywhere. Can any of you guys tell me where I can look for it. And I can not wait to read the new book, Alice-Miranda in China! It sounds so interesting. Like all the other books. Alice- Miranda is my FAVOURITE book! And I can’t wait till the other amazing books by the best author…. Mrs Harvey.
Thanks for your kind words. You should be able to get Alice-Miranda in Paris at your local bookshop or even from the library. If you don’t live close to a bookshop you can get it from Booktopia which is an online seller. Big W also carry the books. Hope you get to read it soon.
Hi Jacqueline Harvey, my name is Hana and I just simply adore your books. You are one of my Top 2 favourite writers. Your Alice Miranda books are like fabulous as Harry Potter by J.K Rowling. Can you write more Alice Miranda books and write about South Korea because that’s my background and i hope you sometimes use my name in your stories.
Thank you Jacqueline Harvey p.s I met you at the signing in Costco and you signed all of the books i bought! Thank you!! 🙂
I have agreed to write 16 Alice-Miranda adventures; with Alice-Miranda in China being Book 14. Researching and writing about the characters, relationships and adventures still gives me so much enjoyment; I think that you will be reading Alice-Miranda books for some time!
South Korea sounds wonderful- never say never! You will have to keep reading, won’t you :)!
We haven’t quite got to that point yet. I know Channel 9 is the station but that’s all at the moment. We’ve still got to reach the ‘Green Light’ part of the production and then it will all become known. Keep checking back as I’ll post more details in future.
Hi I think your books are really great I have read them Millions of times and cannot wait until the 15th on comes out!!! I also can’t wait until the t.v series come out!!! I think that to be able to write a book as well as you wrote Alice-Miranda would be AMAZING!!! I love your work!!! PLEASE keep writing the books!!! Love Ruby ❣️❣️❣️☮️❣️❣️❣️
I love these books and always get them at the library! there are still a couple that I haven’t read that I am trying to find! I wanted to ask how old the kids are now? i mean in the latest book! (I still have to try find it!) I can’t wait to read more!
OMG! there is going to be a tv show??? (I know two comments one day!) I have been hoping for this for sooooo long! Have you casted it yet? if you haven’t… I am desperate to be an actress! so if you need someone to play one of the older girls… let me know! no worries if you would like to pick someone formally rather than someone who commented on a post with an EOI! ahaha! I have just always wanted to play Jacinta if there was ever a movie or tv show!
Hi! I really love the Alice-Miranda books. I live in Japan and i was so excited for the book ‘Alice-Miranda in Japan’ i really enjoy your books, and i can’t wait for the show.
Thanks Miya – how exciting to live in Japan. It’s one of my favourite places in the world. My husband and I are planning a trip there in 2019 for the next Rugby World Cup. I’ve been there a few times already.
Dear Miss Harvey, I know that you must get so much mail being so popular, but I would just like to say a few things. I have all the books up to number, 15, Alice Miranda Holds the Key, and I was wondering if you are planning to write a number 16. If you do, I would love more detail on Charlotte and Lawrence and their children. I love reading about those cute family things! I love your stories and please write much more. YOU ARE LIKE ONE OF MY FAVOURITE AUTHORS!
I love how you made the connection of Alice Miranda and Clementine Rose. I read that too. You mentioned Clementine in Alice Miranda in Japan and Alice Miranda in Clementine Rose and the Seaside Escape. Can you write about them meeting again possibly? That would be awesome!
Thank you so much for reading my letter. I hope I can grow up to be as successful as you!
Thank you so much for your kind words and interest in the stories. Book 16, Alice-Miranda in Hollywood will be released on 1 September. Lawrence, Charlotte and the twins are front and centre in this story, where Alice-Miranda and her friends are lucky enough to be extras on one of Lawrence’s movies.
I’m sure that Alice-Miranda and Clemmie will meet again sometime soon- you will have just have to keep reading to find out, won’t you?
The television series is on its way- but, the people who know about these things, tell me that these things take time- so we all just need to be patient, don’t we:(.
I started reading your books since the first one! I was spellbound, and now, EVERY time, I check to see the expected release date of all your books! (I have all the books from 1-16)
Today, I bought the newest-Alice Miranda in Hollywood. I love the purple/pink cover, and can’t wait to read it! It’s great that it’s a Western themed movie! In fact, I am going to read it RIGHT NOW!
By the way, I didn’t know that book 16 would be released that early, but I went to Big W, and BOOM! It was there! Your books have a lot of mystery-and I love that! I really want to meet Alice Miranda, Jacinta, Milly, Sloane-even Caprice (Even though she sometimes can be a drama queen!) Oh, and Lucas and Sep…and the adults in real life, though I never will, since they are fictional-BUT it’s hard to remember that sometimes!
I love that it has a ‘cast of characters’ in it, (I love books with lot’s of characters-my teachers say it’s confusing, and it’s best to put a few in-it sometimes is confusing, but again, the books I write have a lot of characters too!) So…I still think lot’s of characters are good. (I love the name choices, the names are really creative!)
AND I love that you have a glossary! I mean, in book 16-in the car, I kinda read the cast of characters & glossary-and I found out what a Head Wrangler was!
You are an inspiration to me, I want to meet you someday, so you can give me writing tips! (I want to be an author when I grow up) I hope you can reply!
Thank you for your post, your enthusiasm and kind words about the stories. I am humbled, as a writer, when the amazing fans who inspire me to write, are so invested in the stories and enjoy reading the stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
I’m not sure where you live but, we are planning some fabulous Alice-Miranda in Hollywood red carpet launch celebrations in Sydney and Melbourne- why not check out the website and see whether you can come along. Yee Haw :).
Yes I think they both like each other a lot. It would be cute to have a book about them wouldn’t it! I was taking to my publisher about that yesterday. My biggest problem is just not having enough time to write everything I’d like to but you never know!
Who knows, they may have a bigger profile but, at the moment, the relationship needs to fit in to the bigger context. I think Lucas and Jacinta are working many things out. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and interest in the characters.
My website and blog were created using a site called WordPress. There are lots of different ways to do it. I used to have one hosted on a site called Blogger.
Dear miss Harvey I lllooovvveee your amazing books even though I read at year 10 level now I still read all the new alice-miranda books like for Christmas I got alice-miranda in Hollywood signed by you
You are never to old to read the books that you enjoy! I have many fans, who, like you are well into their high school years and I even hear from parents who read with their younger children, that they enjoy reading the stories.
Thank you for your kind words- I hope that you enjoyed Alice-Miranda in Hollywood.
Hi Jacqueline Harvey, My name is Maya. D and I heard about you launching a Alice Miranda Movie. Congratulations on your achievements. I love you and your books and I am a huge fan. When I grow up I want to be an author or actress. I was wondering if you could tell me when and where the auditions are for the movie. I have a truly strong passion and would work extremely hard. I live in Sydney and I just turned 11. I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Since it is a voice over I think I would be good for either alice miranda, sloane or jacinta as i’ve had a lot of experience with mean girls and dealing with them. But also I am optimistic and happy and like to talk a lot. My favourite book is Alice Miranda in Hollywood and i definitely ship Jacinta and Lucas. They are definitely a cute fit. I hope to hear your answer soon, Your fan Maya.x
Thank you for your beautiful words – it means so much to me to know how invested my fans are. The movie is going to animated and I think it will be cast through a talent agency. I’m not sure how that process works and I won’t have much to do with that, unfortunately. If I get some more details I will post them.
That’s brilliant you want to be an author or an actress – hold on to those dreams.
Dear Ms Jacqueline, thank you so much for bringing such a wonderful series to us readers; the series is so rare because it can be read by everyone of all ages and it will never get old. I really love Alice-Miranda, and I wish for the series to go on forever! Now there’s even a MOVIE? I’m screaming! I can’t wait for it to come out!
Aiesha
The video didn’t work????
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Aiesha,
I think you might have to try it a couple of times. Different devices seem to buffer in different ways. I’ll check with the tech gurus tomorrow and see if there’s anything I should do to help it along.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Sophie

Alana
Hi,
I’m doing an author study on you and I was wondering if there are any pictures of Sep and Lucas that you have drawn. Also I love your books and I hope you keep up the great work.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Alana,
I don’t actually do the illustrations – sadly my drawing skills are pretty terrible. My illustrator, Anne Yi is very clever. I wrote a blog post a while ago that had pictures of Lucas (and I think Sep too) I’ll see if I can find it but you can go back through the posts as well.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
PS I am so thrilled that you’re enjoying the books.
Ellie
hi Jacqueline i love your books so much! i have read all of them!
all my friends at school also read them and during lunch and recess we all read them together!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Ellie

Angie
I read your books in class, bed, on the playground and almost everywhere.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Angie,
Thank you so much for your comment- it is humbling when I read that the amazing children who inspire me to write the stories are so interested and enjoy reading the stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Cate
Hi Ms.
Love and best wishes,
Cate xx
Haha this is a really long Post Script…
Thanks for being amazing and writing gorgeous books!! I can’t wait till the next one comes out? Maybe you could write some quizzes to keep fans occupied until them?
Cate xox
Teresa
Here! Here! Cate ! I agree totally, it’s the innocence that’s makes Mrs Harvey’s books attractive and pleasurable! If they begin to adopt current trends they become cheap and mundane.
I love their uniqueness !! Well done Mrs Harvey’s!!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Teresa,
Thanks for your kind comments. I love that the books have a bit of a timeless quality about them and that’s why I don’t mention too much technology. I don’t want them to date. I love the innocence too. Although the kids are growing up a bit and wondering more about life as they get older. Don’t worry though – they won’t grow up too quickly.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Cate
Thank you for your kind words- so glad that you enjoyed ‘To the Rescue”. I had a quick check and I’m not sure that the Guinness Book of Records has a category for longest book series, other than travel guides and comics! There have been and so many wonderful writers, including Enid Blyton, whom I admire greatly, who have written so many books- not sure I will ever get there!
In the next book, the characters themselves, muse about their grown up selves, but, I agree with you, I do enjoy the innocence of children.
Best wishes
Jacqueline
Bethany
Same did not work
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Bethany,
You can also see it on YouTube if you put in Alice-Miranda television – it should come up.

Kiki
Dear Jaqueline Harvey,
I love your books.
Thanks Kiki
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Kiki,
I know that Whitcoulls in some places sell my books as I’ve seen them there.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Poppy syson

Hi Eleni,
I hope you get to read some of the books really soon. If you don’t have them perhaps you could borrow them from your local library or school when you’re back.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Laura
That’s great and I can’t wait to read it!!! How many more books after this are you going to write?

Hi Laura, glad you like it. I’m writing at least 16 Alice-Miranda books but probably more.

Jacqueline
Sophie
HI Jacqueline Harvey I really like your books they are so great i have never found a writer than you
Lots of love Sophie xx
Jacqueline Harvey
Thanks Sophie!
Cate
Hey Jaqueline I just thought I should let you know that the video doesn’t work. It came up with “there was an error loading this resource”. I can’t wait to buy the new book. I’m probably getting it this weekend at Dymocks Macquarie. Good luck with any new books your writing!
Kind regards,
Cate xx
Jacqueline Harvey
I’m not sure what the problem is for you Cate as it seems to be working for some people and not others. Maybe you could try on another device and see if it works. Good luck (and I’ll check with people who are much better with technology than me tomorrow and see if they can tell me what else I need to do). I hope you enjoy the new book.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Cate
Sorry I made a grammatical error. I meant ‘you’re’ writing. And the book I’m buying is Alice-Miranda To The Rescue.
Cate xox 🙂
Brent
Video worked for me. Good ad Mrs Harvey!
Jacqueline Harvey
Thanks Brent – I think for some people you’ve just got to play it through once and then it catches up with itself. It’s cute isn’t it! I cried when I heard that it was going to happen 🙂

Mrs Harvey.
P.S:- Great ad! 🙂
xox Theebiga 🙂
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Theebiga,
I’m so pleased that you’re enjoying the book. If your local bookshop doesn’t have Alice-Miranda in the Alps just ask them to get it in – or you could try one of the online booksellers – Booktopia is fantastic and can get it to you quick smart. Thanks for your very kind words.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Jessica
Hi Jaqueline, unfortunately the ad kept on freezing up every second. I have tried reconnecting my internet and it still isn’t working. I’m sure the ad is good though! I watch the children’s channels on Foxtel so when I get home from school on Friday I’ll make sure I keep an eye out for the ad! Also just then some of it turned on and then it froze again! Have read some of the books and they are great and I can’t wait to buy Clementine Rose and the Special Promise, too!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Jessica,
Sorry that it keeps freezing on you but hopefully you’ll get to see it on television. Hope you enjoy it and the books too.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Timna Shushan
Dear Jacqueline Harvey,
AMAZING ad Jacqueline Harvey!!
Best Wishes,
Timna Shushan
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Timna,

when i first tried it, the sound didn’t go on but then i realized my internet volume was off. i felt like a idiot.
Jacqueline Harvey
Don’t feel silly – I can’t tell you the number of times I do things like that and think something’s not working properly. I’m far too impatient sometimes. Hope you enjoyed it.

Mikayla
Hello Jaqueline ,
I am a big fan of your books and yourself!
Mikayla xox
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Mikayla,
You are so lovely – thank you for your very kind words. I feel quite overwhelmed that you love the books so much and I hope that you achieve your writing dreams too. It was lovely to meet you at Parramatta and I hope to see you again sometime.

Maya Kalodikis
Hello Miss Harvey,
Okay,i just have to say this, OMG!
Much admiration, excitement, praise and craziness,
a huge fan,
Maya
Explosion!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Maya,
First of all I have to say that I read your message and you made me laugh and cry (with joy!).
Happy weekend and thanks again Maya.

Pps ,I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️☺️
Ppps I ship Lucinta!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Taylah
Goodness, you will have to watch this space- just keep reading the books if you want to know whether the characters kiss! It is always a good thing to go back and re read books some time after you finish them- often, as you get older, there are parts to the stories that you appreciate more….that way, it won’t seem like such a long time between books. I am currently writing Alice-Miranda in China which is due out in September. I actually live in Australia and am travelling to the Somerset Festival in the Gold Coast in March! You would need to attend with a school group or ask your parents to bring you; but, be sure to come and say hello if you get there.
Best wishes

Oohhh!! Your writing Alice-Miranda in China? As soon as that comes out, I’ll probably have enough money to buy it!!!
denae vanderplas
Dear Ms Harvey,
In the Clementine Rose series, is the secret of who her real mother is ever going to be revealed?
Lots of love and admiration,
Denae. xxx

Hi Jaqueline,
I am a BIIIIG fan of yours. I can’t wait to read the latest book and I hope you keep on writing books.
I have a question. What happens when of if you turn Alice-Miranda into a teenager? That is… if you decide to make her turn into a teenager.
Sincerely,

Thanks Felicia!
To be honest, I really haven’t given too much thought to Alice-Miranda and her friends in those teenage years.

Hello Maddi
Thank you, I was kind of wondering one day if Ms Harvey would ever reveal it and then I figured it out.
Lots of love from a AM fan

Anyway, i have a few questions for you if you don’t mind;
First one is if your going to continue writing for Alice and friends until their teens or even as adults?
From a huge Alice Miranda fan and Lucinta supporter,
Cassandra.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Cassandra
So glad that you are enjoying the books – especially the characters and relationships. Interestingly, the characters have been thinking about their adult selves at the beginning of the new book, Alice-Miranda in China, which I am currently writing. The characters are based on lots children who I have taught and met over the years, from my observations of people and from my imagination.

Jaida
Hi Ms Harvey,
I love your CR books, especially the Farm Fiasco! The Alice Miranda add is really cute. I have have a couple questions I wanted to ask you. First, when did you realise that you wanted to become an author? Second, how long does it usually take you to write a Clementine Rose book? And last, where do you get your information and ideas for your books from?
Lots of love from the biggest Clementine Rose fan ever
Jaida. xx
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Jaida

I wanted to thank you again for putting my review on the web sight, It made me so happy!

Hi Maya
Thank you for your insightful review! Yes, Alice-Miranda in China is certainly a work in progress. I have been doing lots of research on flights and sites and Chinese names; and keeping myself amused with some eccentric (new and old) characters who may not be what they seem.

Tv show looks awesome when will it be released and what channel will it be on?
I would love for you to visit Sale in Gippsland one day because me and all my friends are huge fans ( you probably get that a
Lot!) I introduced some of my cousins to Alice Miranda and they love it.
Bye Sophie
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Sophie,
I’m actually coming to Melbourne in a couple of weeks but I know that’s a long way from Sale.

Hello Ms Harvey,
Oooh!
Much admiration

Hi Maya
Yes, there is so much that is fascinating and intriguing about China- I am learning much through my research on the book. It is wonderful that you have a friend to teach you about another culture.

Jo
Hi Mrs. Harvey,
I absolutely love your books!
Always your fan,
Jo
By the way, I can’t wait for the new book to come out! When does the book come out in China? I’ve been waiting ages. Alice Miranda and Clementine Rose are my favourite series. I’ve read every book, and known nothing better! You’re my favourite author ever!.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Jo
Glad that you are enjoying the books- and that you took the time to research Agnes Wells, who is real in my imagination. I am in the throes of writing Alice-Miranda in China, which has been fascinating to research- No famous authors, but a very talented acrobatic troupe with a twist are the stars. It will be released on 1 September 2016.

Hi ms Harvey,
I am your best AM and CR fan.
Thanks jasmine
PS I should have put a question mark after again but it doesn’t work.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Jasmine,
It sounds like you’re doing some interesting detective work there!

Millie
Hi Miss Harvey,
I just love your books to bits, especially the Alice-Miranda series!
Kind regards,
Amelia
PS: I freaked out when I first read AM because her best friends name is Millie! It’s my nickname, because my real name is Amelia (another coincidence)!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Amelia,
Yes of course you can bring your whole collection of books to be signed! I love meeting my readers and it sounds like you are truly dedicated to Alice-Miranda and her friends. You must know the books inside and out and backwards having read them so many times!
I look forward to meeting you and make sure that you tell me you’re ‘the Amelia’ from the blog.

From, ️Shari
P.S I’m turning 9 this year, and I’m probably going to still be reading AM when I turn 16. By!

Hi Jacqueline,
I am so in love with your books!!!
I think that there should be a movie or Tv show about Alice Miranda.
I was just wondering what the next book is called – I can’t wait for it to come out!!!!
I was in hospital for 10 months and you books really gave me something fun to do!
Love Eve
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Eve
Thank you for your kind words. Actually, Alice-Miranda has been signed to be made into a TV series. I have been really excited to read a couple of scripts but, I’m told, by people who know about these things, that TV series’ take quite a long time to actually make it to the small screen- I will certainly post updates on my website…but, nothing to announce, just yet!
The next adventure for Alice-Miranda and her friends is Alice-Miranda in China. The children are on a School tour, soaking up the history, culture and vastness of China, with some acrobatics and intrigue thrown in. The book will be released on 1 September.
I do hope you are feeling well now, Eve!
Best wishes

Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Micaela
Thank you for your kind words; it is humbling as an writer to hear that the children who inspire me to write enjoy reading the stories as much as I enjoy writing them. To hear that my books have helped you develop a love of reading (and learning) is a wonderful gift!
I have so many ideas for stories, characters, mysteries and plots swirling around in my head, I suspect that I will be writing for quite some time!
Best wishes

Zoe
Dear Jacqueline Harvey,
I absolutely love your books and I have read them all (including “To The Rescue”)!
Zoe
P.S. How do you come up with the characters names and the complication for stories?
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Zoe
I hope you enjoy the new series too!
Best wishes

Thanks for replying. Alice Miranda in China sounds very interesting. I will get it as soon as it is out!

Jasmine
Hi Jacqueline,
I am very excited because soon, you are coming to my school- Scotch Oakburn College in Launceston Tasmania- and the Writer’s Festival!
Thank you and see you soon!
Kind regards,
Jasmine
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Jasmine
I look forward to meeting you soon too!
Best wishes
Jacqueline

Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Destiny

Shari
Shari
Hi Jacquline! Can you come to my school one time?
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Shari,
I love to visit schools and you can ask your librarian to get in touch with me and perhaps I can put you on the tour list sometime in the future. I usually have to plan a long way out though – so it wouldn’t be until next year.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Shari
Hi Jacquline! My friend Ella at rosebud says I’m a bookworm ( which is a really, really true fact, and I read at least 20 or more books at a time and my head doesn’t get confused) and she says that she’ll kill me if I read another book. It is getting quite annoying now, and I told my mum. Do you have any advice?( I also have my head stuck in a book or a writing book, writing my own stories) Bye!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Shari,
Being a bookworm is a great thing.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline

sophie bond
hi its sophie bond here,
I really really want to read the whole alice-miranda series online.I’ve tried everything. I have 4 of your books. I am your biggest fan of your books.
thanks again sophie bond xoxo
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Sophie,
You can buy the Alice-Miranda series as e-books and also you can now get the first five as audio books too.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Hope
Hi Jacqueline!,
My name is Hope, and even though I just started reading your series, I am enjoying them very much. I hope that everyone who now reads your books keeps on doing it because I know that me and my friends want to see more of your amazing work soon.
PS, I saw you today at somerset writers and you were my favorite author your speech was so interesting.
And by the way, did you ever see Peter again?!?! 😉
Thank you, and good luck

Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Hope
Thanks you for your kind words- I hope people keep enjoying the books too! What a fabulous time it has been at Somerset- in my day no one had the opportunity to actually meet authors, let alone have a chance to hear them speak. It’s flattering that you enjoyed my talk.
I’ve met Peter’s son and heard that he is married and has a lovely wife and children. I was very pleased to know that.

Hi Rebecca,
I love New Zealand – in fact, so much so, that my husband and I are buying a block of land in Queenstown! We are planning to build a house there and go over for several months of the year. Hope you’re enjoying Alice-Miranda to the Rescue. I love the Clarissa and Drew storyline in Clemmie too.

I can’t wait until the series!
can you please Put it on TVNZ?

Hi Rebecca,
I would love to have my series on TVNZ but that really depends on the production company. Fingers crossed 🙂

rebecca chinyani
Thank you Jackquline for doing what you do.
you are the best author ever!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Rebecca
Thanks for your lovely comments and I’m glad you are enjoying the books. The television series is still in the production phase – these things seem to take such a long time but, whether and where it will be shown or not depends on who buys it. Sadly, it’s not for me to decide whether TVNZ will. I will certainly update the website with news, as soon as I hear!
Best wishes
Jacqueline
Jacqueline Harvey
Thanks Rebecca – you are very kind 🙂
Harriet
hi Jacqueline Harvey
I heard you had a horse called moo moo and a Labrador from somebody called Hope on this blog
I am very greatful she said so
I would love to hear from you soon and I love your books you are a great writer
lots of love Harriet
P.S how did you start writing?
what was your first book called?
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Harriet,
That’s true I had a horse called Moo Moo and a Labrador called Suzie.
Thanks for your kind words.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline

Hi Harriet
Wow! Quite a menagerie, you have!
Clementine Rose and the Paris Puzzle is due to be released at the end of June 2016. There isn’t a Clementine Rose Diary- but have you seen the Busy Day Book?
Best wishes
Jacqueline
Rosie
Hi Jacqueline,
I cannot even thank you enough for writing the Alice-Miranda and Clementine-Rose book series.
I hope you reply!
Rosie xxx
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Rosie,
Your message really touched me a lot.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline xx
Asha
Hi,
I am really excited as I think I may be able to meet you tomorrow.
Jacqueline Harvey
Dear Asha,
I hope that we got to meet – I’m racking my brain as I met so many lovely children in Tasmania the other week.
Hope you’re having a lovely Easter break.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Denae
Dear Ms Harvey.
I really enjoyed meeting you yesterday in Hobart.
Thank you for signing my sister and my books.
I love how you have made Alice Miranda a kind, happy, bubbly, caring, problem solver, positive, outgoing, persevering, smart girl. Alice Miranda is my role model and I look up to you with great admiration because you have created her. I think that everyone can learn from Alice Miranda that on our worst days we can still smile anyway.
Smiling, from Denae.x

Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Maryam,
Glad that you liked the commercial.
Best wishes,

I love her books too.
My favourite book is Clementine Rose and the Ballet break in
from Harriet.
Abbie
In Clementine Rose’s book called Movie Magic I want to know who is Eliza I have read Birthday Emergency before but it doesn’t say who Eliza is I think it’s Aunt Violet’s child.
P.S I love your books Soooooo much they’re the best.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Abbie,
You might just be right about who Eliza is 🙂
Thank you for your kind words about the books – I’m thrilled that you enjoy them so much.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Amaya
Hi,
My name is Amaya and I am your biggest fan.
Bye.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Amaya,
I’m so pleased that I was able to meet you in Tasmania.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Harriet
Hi Jacqueline Harvey
for Easter we are staying at my grandparents house at the sunshine coast.
What are you doing for Easter and the Holidays?
from Harriet.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Harriet,
I am working on Alice-Miranda in China at home over the Easter break and getting ready to go to Perth tomorrow. It sounds like your holiday might be a bit more relaxing than mine. I’m trying to get on top of all my work.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Harriet
Sounds like a plan.
Have fun in Perth.
from Harriet.
Milena Jade
Hi Jacqueline Harvey,
I really enjoy reading the Alice-Miranda books, they are really good!
PS: Personally I don’t think you should write anything about them as adults because it kinda spoils them being kids… that doesn’t really make sense but yeah 🙂
PPS: I like the idea of them as teenagers!
PPPS: Please write heaps more AM books, I love them! I really want to be a writer when I grow up
PPPPS: You are a great author
PPPPPS: That was a REALLY long comment
From Milena
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Milena,
I’m so pleased that the mysteries are tricky to figure out as I love reading stories where it takes until the end for all the pieces to fall together.
Warm wishes,
Jacqueline
Lily
Hi Jacqueline
We have a few statements, This is a little bit cheeky but my sister wants to know when Lucas and Jacinta will kiss.
Like where she lives and the school is ( England or America ? )
What is the name of the next book and when is it coming out?
How do you create the cover pages of the AM books ? Theyre really good.
What is your favourite Alice Miranda book so far?
Is the TV show going to be animated or real?
Could one of the books be AMs birthday and something else of course.
How old is AM at the moment?
I’ve got loads more questions but i don’t want to bore you with them at the moment. Have a nice rest of Easter Holiday, I Live in Australia but I am currently in England.
Thankyou for your time
It would be amazing if you answered these questions.
From Lily and Alice
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Lily,
Well, you might like to pass onto Alice that she may not have to wait too much longer for the ‘big event’ – but it might not all be smooth sailing!
Best wishes,
Jacqueline.
Alice
Hi Jacqueline

Will you still keep replying to the blog while you are in Perth?
We are Holidaying at the beach.
What are you going to do in Perth?
I hope you write more………..BOOK’S.

Thankyou so much For replying Jacqueline
We were both very excited when you replied, though Alice is a bit excited that we choose our own country though we’ve done some research and we think that she lives in England just out of London.
Thankyou for answering our questions, we feel as if we’ve been let into a secret organisation and been told all the secrets. We both cannot wait until AM 14 and many more to come.
Yours sincerely again

Thankyou Lily and Alice – I hope that you enjoy the new book and many more after that 🙂

To Jaqueline Harvey,
I love Your books, especially Alice Miranda!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Emma,
Sorry I didn’t see your email before our event yesterday but I hope that I signed all your books.

Maryam
Hi jacqueline!
I have read all your books and I really think they they are fabulous! My favourite one is Alice-Miranda at the palace. Alice-Miranda is very lucky to have gone to the palace. I wonder if I will ever meet the queen…
Anyway, I really can’t wait until Alice-Miranda at China comes out-I’m sure it will be superb.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Maryam,
It’s wonderful that you’re enjoying the books and fantastic that you want to be a writer.
Best wishes with it all,
Jacqueline
Maryam
Hi jacqueline!
I forgot to write this but does Alice-Miranda live in Australia? I was thinking she might.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Maryam,
I’ve never actually said where she lives as I like the readers to make up their own minds – it could be Australia, it might be England or perhaps it’s a made up place – entirely up to you!
Best wishes,
Jacqueline

Dear Mrs Harvey,
Thank you for replying to my last comment:-)
My family and I really enjoyed meeting you as well… It was great fun!!
From a MASSIVE Jacqueline Harvey, AM + CR fan

PS. are you ever going to make Fern, Tarquin and Liam Sharlan come up again in any of your coming books?

Jade Hastings
I love reading your books and going on your blog!
You write the best books ever!
Jade Hastings
Is the last book going to be them as teenagers?
Can AM visit a farm or find a secret passage in the school?
With your spy series how many books will you write?
When will you come back to Sydney?
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Jade,
I live in Sydney so I’m here whenever I’m not travelling!
Best wishes,
Jacqueline

Hi there Lilly
Thank you so much for your beautiful words- it’s so lovely for any of us to be able to immerse ourselves in the imaginary world of fiction and just “be”! It is so very flattering that my writing makes you laugh and smile; one of the reasons that I love writing about Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose is that they make me laugh and smile too!

Hayley
Hi Mrs Harvey
I am a HUGE Lucinta fan and I would really really really want to see some balcony romance with them. I can’t wait until the next book aka book 14 and here are some questions.
1. What is the closest event to October the 18th that you are hosting.
2. You don’t have to answer this one but what is your favourite AM book?
3. How many books are you hoping to write?
PLEASE answer!
4.Could you come to Mary Immaculate Primary School Quakers Hill because I would REALLY appreciate it.
From your no.1 fan Hayley!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Hayley,
There’s some really interesting things happening with Lucinta in the next book.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline

Thank you Jacqueline Harvey for being not only an amazing writer, but a person who is motivating and an inspiration for all young kids, just like me, who have big dreams about writing books. If I do ever release a book, which I hope I do, I hope you will read it.
Thankyou for being awesomely talented, humourous and always having amazing use of wordplay in your books. Best wishes for the year ahead and happy belated wishes for your birthday.
Thanks again!

Hey Jacqueline,
Here are a few ideas for Alice Miranda Books
It could be like they go to India and meet Prince Shivaji, who was mentioned in a few of the books. It could include something about a scandal about royalty or monarchy or something. Also, maybe it could include some mischievous monkey and a couple of new friends. Here are a few Indian names that I fount and think AWESOME.
– Deepti
– Aditi (Because it’s Indian and mine:)!
– Mira
Hope you like them!
ADITI
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Aditi,
I love your ideas and it was great to meet you the other day. I’d love to do an India book – I just need to go there for the research! They’re great names too.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline

Thanks Aditi 🙂
Shari
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Shari,
That sounds fantastic – I’ll have to check it out.
Best wishes,

Alice- Miranda is my FAVOURITE book! And I can’t wait till the other amazing books by the best author…. Mrs Harvey.

Hi Katie,
Thanks for your kind words.

Thank you!! 🙂
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Hana,
Thank you for your kind words and compliments.

OMG! there is going to be a tv show??? (I know two comments one day!) I have been hoping for this for sooooo long! Have you casted it yet? if you haven’t… I am desperate to be an actress! so if you need someone to play one of the older girls… let me know! no worries if you would like to pick someone formally rather than someone who commented on a post with an EOI! ahaha! I have just always wanted to play Jacinta if there was ever a movie or tv show!

Aimeely
Dear Miss Harvey,
I know that you must get so much mail being so popular, but I would just like to say a few things.
Sincerely,
Aimeely Ta
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Aimeely,
Thank you so much for your kind words and interest in the stories.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline

Isabella Tjandra
Hello!
From fellow writer: Isabella Tjandra
Yeehaw!
Isabella Tjandra
Oh, also, since this was about book 13, I just wanted to say-book 13 is my favourite book! (Since I love love love dogs!)
Thanks Mrs Harvey! (I hope my comment isn’t too long!)
WOOF!

Thanks, Isabella!

Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Isabella,
Thank you for your post, your enthusiasm and kind words about the stories.
Yee Haw :).
Best wishes,

Hi Aviva,
Yes I think they both like each other a lot. It would be cute to have a book about them wouldn’t it! I was taking to my publisher about that yesterday. My biggest problem is just not having enough time to write everything I’d like to but you never know!

Hi Avia,
Who knows, they may have a bigger profile but, at the moment, the relationship needs to fit in to the bigger context. I think Lucas and Jacinta are working many things out. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and interest in the characters.

Hi Jacqueline Harvey,
My name is Maya.
I hope to hear your answer soon,
Your fan Maya.x

Hi Maya,
Thank you for your beautiful words – it means so much to me to know how invested my fans are. The movie is going to animated and I think it will be cast through a talent agency. I’m not sure how that process works and I won’t have much to do with that, unfortunately. If I get some more details I will post them.
That’s brilliant you want to be an author or an actress – hold on to those dreams.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
