Night of the Notables at Dymocks Sydney

March 6, 2017 by Jacqueline Harvey 6 Comments

I was honoured to be asked to speak at the very first Night of the Notables hosted by the Children’s Book Council NSW Branch. It was a packed house with standing room only as the Children’s Book Council announced the long lists for the Book of the Year Awards. Fabulous children’s author and one of the judge’s for this year, Nette Hilton spoke about what being a judge entails – lots of reading!

What a thrill to see so many of my friends’ books in the running. I talked about the importance of reading for all children and a copy of the speech will appear on the CBCA NSW website soon.

You can also click here to see the full list of Notable Books. I have my fingers crossed for a few of my favourites when the short list is announced next month.
