Opera House Young Filmmakers Competition
Just recently I became aware of a fabulous competition for budding young filmmakers in association with the Sydney Opera House. All you need is a great idea and a little bit of time to fill out the application and if your story is selected then you get to actually make the film, alongside some professionals. Here are the details from the Opera House website. The deadline has been extended but it’s still really soon – so don’t delay and this competition is only open to students aged 12-18. Youth Film Competition
Calling all young film lovers! Ever dreamt of creating your own short film?
Sydney Opera House wants to help you transform your idea into your own original short film!
Enter the competition for your chance to be mentored by industry professionals, attend film making masterclasses at the Opera House and make your idea into a short film to be premiered at Little Big Shots, an international film festival for kids at the Sydney Opera House. The final films will also be showcased on the Sydney Opera House social media channels.
Three winners will be selected by a panel of film industry judges, based on merit and originality of their idea. Up to eight runner ups will also be chosen to participate in the filmmaking masterclasses and attend the final film screenings at Little Big Shots.
