I can’t wait for tomorrow!
I think I’ll have to make school hurry up to finish so that I can go to the bookstore, which is weird cause I normally LOVE school.
Can’t wait for your Alice Miranda In Egypt! Though, I’m not sure if I have time for the zoom meeting or not but hopefully I will have time.
Jacqueline Harvey
I hope that you enjoy it Grace! I loved writing it :).
Alesha
I can’t wait to read the book! I’ve been almost counting down the days til today I’ve been so excited.
It’ll be amazing as usual I’m certain!
Jana
Hi Jacqueline,
I am so excited to read this new book! I love reading your books and I have read the Alice Miranda series like 2 times already in just over a year and I have also read the Clementine Rose series. They always make me excited and I wait until every new book comes out. This one will probably be extra amazing since I am actually from Egypt, so I am extremely excited to get it and read it.
Thank you for making these incredible books and I hope you continue making them all the time!!!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Jana,
I hope you enjoy the new Alice-Miranda book, especially as it is set where you are from – I loved writing it. I’m thrilled that you loved reading the books so much that you read them twice!
Happy Reading,
Jacqueline 🙂

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s taken so much time!
This is the history of me and Alice-Miranda. . .
My friend Hayley said I looked like I would enjoy Alice-Miranda and loaned me the first ever one. . . now, I have read ALL and I mean ALL of the Alice-Miranda books in my school library, I have about four for myself and I have read the rest of the Alice-Miranda books online. . .I have NEVER missed an Alice-Miranda book, and I don’t plan on starting now. Oh, and I also don’t plan on starting to miss out on the Kensy and Max series too, cuz I read all of them and I’m pretty much up to date, but it’s really sad cuz I REALLY wanna read the new ones, but I have to wait cuz my big brother broke his arm and my sister is at that stage where she will ley EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE know that she is the house, so yeah.
P.S. Jacqueline Harvey, I am a HUGE FAN and I was WONDERING if you could pay a teensie tiny visit to my school during book week.
P.P.S You wouldn’t mind bringing the new releases, would you?!
P.P.P.S Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Stella
Oooo. I can’t wait!! I love the blurb and It seems so exciting!
Thank you for writing your books!!
Audrey
I can’t wait! I have read all your books and I really want to read this one. It is so exciting!!!!!!!!!!

Happy reading,
Jacqueline
Aditi
Okay! I’ve calmed down after reading book 20, and OH MY GOSH. IT WAS SO AMAZING. One of the *best* in the series, in my opinion. I wasn’t expecting all the different plot lines to merge the way they did in the end, nor who the real villain and hero was! AM’s determination and intuition was spot on as always. All the main characters were fabulous, and the new ones were just as great.
Ahmed is my new favorite side character! Masud’s willingness to do such risky things for his family was heartwarming- the entire family was a delight- and the Millie-Masud bond was the sweetest thing ever. Bonaparte has been dethroned from his position as ‘naughtiest animal’- that honor goes to Nenet! Caprice and camels are just… *shudders* Speaking of Caprice, the part where she defended the other girls made me tear up. That was beautiful.
OH, LUCINTA. Adorable as always. The marriage bit melted my heart! Wait ten years, Lucas. But to me, the elephant in the room is the love triangle. Or, it could be considered a square, if you count the “adorable-deplorable” thing (so cute!). Either way, I’m very impressed. Most books haven’t handled the trope all that well, but this one was so realistic! But I want to give the main three involved big hugs- that got messy.
Madagascar would love this book, that’s how awesome it is! Thank you for writing such great stories! ❤️
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Aditi,
Oh my goodness – your appraisal of the book makes me so happy. I was wondering if you were okay if I shared your words on my socials as I was so overwhelmed – I almost cried (tears of happiness) when I read it. Thank you :).
I’m so thrilled that you enjoyed the story.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline x
Aditi
Of course you can share it! That’s fine with me :).
a fan
did sep always have a crush on alice-miranda? it was confsing since it wasn’t a thing befre. nd does millie like sep or sasha? but I like the way the love triangle was concluded 🙂 alice-miranda and neville are sososososo cute! but tbh I like the idea of sep and lucinda since they seemed to get along pretty well in scotland
Jacqueline Harvey
I’ve got some romance planned for Book 21 – just not sure which direction it’s heading yet – so you’ll have to wait and see.
Audrey
Hi! I love your books! My favourite series is Kensy and Max :). Can you please send me a list of all the Kensy and Max books? Thank you for writing all these fabulous stories! They bring joy to my life!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Audrey,
Thank you for your kind words, I’m thrilled to hear you enjoy the Kensy and Max series!
You can find the Kensy and Max books listed on my website under the ‘Kensy and Max’ section, I will put the link here – https://jacquelineharvey.com.au/kensy-and-max/

I think the book series is amazing, but sadly I don’t have them all i only have up to book 17 so I will need to wait a while to get it! I tried Clementine rose but I didn’t like it I think I was too little, Alice-Maranda has beed the best book series yet!

Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Em,
I’m thrilled to hear that you enjoy reading the Alice-Miranda series and I hope you enjoy the next three Alice-Miranda books in the series when you can get your hands on a copy. 🙂
Happy reading,
Jacqueline
Stella
Oooo. Does that mean there’s more coming out?
I finished book 20 today. I loved it so much!!! The plot line and all the twists and turns. And I loved Neville and Alice-Mirandas bond.
Did anyone else notice that there was Seps Face at the start of one of the chapters? I loved how cool he looked!
Aditi
Yup! Aaand now I have yet another fictional character crush. *weary fangirl sigh*
Stella
Hahaha.
I don't want to say.
I love the Alice Miranda books. I am looking forward to it when it comes out!
Camille
Congrats Mrs Harvey!
Unfortunately I am not up to date with my Alice Miranda books, but I have them all!
I’m a huge fan!
P.S: I hope you enjoy writing your books as much as I love reading them!
Ellie
Hi Mrs Harvey!
Sorry I missed the Zoom. I haven’t been up to date because of school, but during the holidays I will be online more, that’s definite. Congrats on the new AM book. Just wondering when the next Kensy and Max book is coming out? I have so many ideas. (though I’m not going to tell you what to do :P)
Maybe you should make the next book about them going to meet the Queen and she sends them on their craziest mission yet, to uncover the creator of COVID-19!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would be AMAZE, but of course your book are already THE BEST with or without my idea. Also, you should do birthday invitation sheets and bunting with the Theme of Kensy and Max, because all the other characters have them on this web. BTWs LOVE the idea of giving out key chains every time you buy a K&M book. I know that ended a while ago but I bought book 7 and got the Rome key chain. It’s hanging on my school bag right now! I hope you start a new series sometime soon too! The world NEEDS more of your AMAZING books. I also like how each series is different from each other, giving everybody the chance to read your books, no matter their liking. Well, keep up the good work! I would keep complementing you but I have homework 🙁
Bye 🙁
Ellie
Ellie
Sorry I’m just a Kensy and Max lover/nerd 🙂 😀 XD
Grace
OMG!
The Alice Miranda In Egypt book was the best thing ever!
I loved when Caprice defended Millie from that awful Madagascar.
It was also so sweet when Masud did all those things for his sick brother even though they weren’t very smart ideas.
Hmm, what else?
Oh yes, I love Ahmed! I laughed when Ahmed drove the kids around Egypt so fast and then asked them if they enjoyed the ride. Mr Salah was also a pretty good tour guide. So was Mr Ferguson.
I sighed with relief when Alice Miranda discovered Gianna Morsey.
I was SO glad when Winchesterfield Downsfordvale was safe from that horrid Mr Badger.
Thank you for writing Alice Miranda In Egypt!
It was the best book ever!
Ellie
Hey, hey, HEY! Don’t spoil it for all of us LOL 😀
Grace
Woops,
Sorry!

HI Jacqueline
I love all your books and have even already read Alice-Miranda in Egypt. I am A BIG FAN and hope I might met you one day. I love it when Alice-Miranda has those strange feelings and always seems to be right.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Liberty,
Thank you for your kind words. I hope you enjoyed the new read, I really loved writing Alice-Miranda in Egypt.
Maybe when I start touring more again there may be an event nearby and you could come say hi and we can chat then! 🙂
Happy reading,
Jacqueline
Stella
Hello! I am so excited to read it! I just got it today and from what I’ve read so far it seems so awesome! I’m going to read it after I post this. I hope that this will not be the last time we see AM and the rest, as this series has been with me forever. Whenever I have nothing to read i always read a Alice-Miranda book. Thank so for creating them.
Stella.

Hi Jacqueline,
I read the newsletter about a writing competition.
Where do we write it and how do we send it to you?
Izzy says
Hi Jaqueline. My name is Isabelle and i’m a young aspiring author. I’m eleven years old and love your books, i’ve read every single Clementine Rose book and almost all the Alice Miranda’s! I have been writing for a long time now (since I was 6) and am now writing my second actual chapter book. My first is a bit of a time travel but the next one is going to be so good! I would love if you could maybe give me some tips on writing because I want to become an author like you some day . Sorry my email is so long by the way and I can’t wait to read Alice Miranda in Egypt! ❤️
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Izzy,
I’m thrilled to hear that you love writing – it really is such an enjoyable hobby and job to have!
I currently have a writing competition as part of my newsletter, so I would love to read your entry – if you aren’t signed up to my newsletter yet, you can click the sun on the top right hand corner of my website to sign up!
Happy writing,
Jacqueline 🙂
Alesha
I have finally had the privilege to read Alice-Miranda in Egypt and wow, I’m absolutely mind-blown. It was just absolutely amazing!!! I seriously have no idea how you do it, I just think you are a phenomenal author. I just loved how things flowed and were linked beautifully, like how Caprice said that she could be Queen Nefertiti, and how in the end with what happened with Nefertiti’s tomb. It was truly exciting with Alice-Miranda’s heroic actions in the end and Ahmed. I loved the heart warming parts with what Millie did for Masud in the end too, and how his efforts weren’t exactly laid to waste for his brother, even though his initial plan wasn’t what got his brother help. Everything just seemed to fit together so perfectly. And what Caprice did for Millie was also just so lovely. The extreme twist in the end too was definitely not what I expected! This book was so well worth the wait! I’ve never read books like Alice-Miranda, they are just so thought-provoking and very cleverly written like no other book I’ve ever read before.
Gloria
I love Alice-Miranda too!!!
Kay
I absolutely agree. Your comment pretty much sums up what I thought too.
IT’S SO GOOD!
Grace
Totally agree!
Best book ever!
Gloria
Hey,
I love reading Alice-Miranda. I have only 2 more to go. My favourite would be Alice-Miranda at the palace. I love how you dropped off bits of info on the actually scheming behind the scenes. I have a question. When does the next book come out. I have already read Egypt and it was AMAZING! How did you come up with there dresses. When I imagined them it was so beautiful. Are al, the characters based on something that happened in life? Like how King George abdicated his thrown to marry Evelyn? By the way I love your word choice. Did you know my friends go on and on about how I am such an Alice-Miranda fan.
I also have read the whole series of Clementine Rose. I even own 4 books.
When is your next zoom meeting coming up? Sorry I didn’t join the last one.
My favourite Clementine Rose book would be my famous friend. Did you make the poem at the end by yourself. If you did I request you make a book all about poetry. I have some recommendations about what you could do next. Maybe you could make an Alice-Miranda in India book or maybe Alice-Miranda in Europe. But you don’t have to take these ideas. You already come up with beautiful ones.
To anyone who is reading this on the website. I finally found my bunch to talk forever about Kenny and Max, Clementine Rose and Alice-Miranda.

Gloria
Gloria
Hope you enter the competition.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Gloria,
You are clearly a superfan! Thank you so much. I am taking a little break from Alice-Miranda at the moment as I have a new series coming out next year called Willa and Woof and I’m also concentrating on Kensy and Max. But I will be writing another Alice-Miranda book next year sometime but release will be 2023.
Yes I did write the poem Bitten By the Bug at the end of Clementine Rose and the Famous Friend.
Sometimes the stories are based on a tiny bit of real life. There was once a King who abdicated his throne to marry a lady called Mrs Simpson. I suppose that gave me some of the idea. I will be having another Zoom catch up sometime early in 2022. Make sure that you’re signed up to my newsletter for all the details.
Thanks for your lovely message.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Alesha
It’s great you both agree to how amazing it is!
Ella
I signed up to the newsletter and I say the writing competition and I went to my Mum this morning and said, “I HAVE to enter!” and she said yes so I wrote the story for Section 2 and I’m ready to enter! My mum will read it in a second. I would be overjoyed to see you on a zoom! The funny thing is, the deadline is one my birthday! August 15! I love the new Kensy and Max; High Voltage cover too! I’m so glad you came to my school and inspired me to read your books. I don’t know where I would be without you!
XOXO Ella XOXO
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi again Ella,
Good luck! I’m looking forward to reading your writing.
I agree, I love the cover for Kensy and Max: High Voltage it looks really cool – I am so lucky to have such an amazing team that continue to create my dream book covers. 🙂

Oops I made quite a typos there 😛

Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Sabrina,
I hope you enjoy Alice-Miranda in Egypt once you get your hands on a copy. 🙂
Happy reading,
Jacqueline
Sophie
Hi Jacqueline,
I have recently finished reading Alice Miranda is Egypt and OMG are in love!! I just don’t know how you manage to create amazing books over and over again it’s to amazing for words even my pets love them as they bark and meow when I have to stop reading them some times they just won’t stop! I read the blurb and was instantly interested in the book and wanted to read more. You are the best author in the world and your books are amazing.
I was wondering are you going to make more Alice Miranda’s. If so I thought that if you did you could make another about theQueen’s colours and this time Alice Miranda and her friends are in space and need to learn to work together and use leadership skills to get back to earth or some where else.
Talk Soon
Sophie 🙂
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Sophie,
Thank you for your kind words, I’m thrilled to hear that you loved reading Alice-Miranda in Egypt!
I am taking a break from Alice-Miranda at the moment, but she will be back in the future (thank you for your suggestions, I like to hear what my readers would enjoy reading). I have some new and exciting projects on the way…
Happy reading,
Jacqueline 🙂
Belle
I am so exited jacqueline.i am a hugeeeeeeee fan of yours. i can’t wait!
Ella
I entered the writing competition! I rewrote it about 50 times, thinking “This isn’t good enough for THE Jacqueline Harvey!” But I’m quite confident with the one I entered!
Ella

Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Sophie,
Thank you so much for the offer that is very kind of you! I will be taking a break from the Alice-Miranda series but you never know what the future holds…
Best wishes,
Jacqueline 🙂
Thomas Risson
I’ve started writing for the competition, and it’s very tricky because its reward is a chat with Jacqueline Harvey and a signed book. For the winner, when will they get the signed book? As for the talk, my sister will probably pop in and out.
Ella
Thomas,
It’s the same for me! It’s just with my little brother, he’s always popping out of no where, it’s creepy
Belle
wow i am a big fan of yours
Thomas Risson
Hey Ella, what’s your story about? I already have my idea, which is, in short, a phone thief.
I can’t wait to see who wins the competition. As for my sister, she takes her shoes off sometimes just so I can’t hear her sneaking up on me.
Thomas Risson
Also, has anyone here got Spy Journal? If you do, rate it out of ten, with ten being ridiculously insanely incredibly good please.
Ella
I wish I had a spy journal! I don’t want to spoil it so I’ll give you a clue about my story. It involves the Prime Minister.
Thomas Risson
Well, you can get the Kensy and Max Spy Journal for $14.75 on Amazon, limited time only. Ts and Cs apply.
Also, you’re story sounds really intriguing. I wonder if Jacqueline Harvey will put the winner’s story in the newsletter or not.
Ella
She said that they will be announced in the September and October Newsletter, so quite soon Your story sounds really cool too!
Cordell Andrews
I am a huge book reader, I love getting lost in the worlds that people create. As a 17 year old, I tend to read certain themes and I love them, but it’s really nice to read the story of Alice-Miranda as she grows up and experiences things. I love reading her thought processes and how she views the world, not all cupcakes and rainbows but still something to be cherished. I love the storylines and I absolutely love the character development. When I read 17 I instantly started thinking about what was going to come next and then I loved seeing how she and by extension, you, took things. 20 was brilliant and I definitely can’t wait to see what comes next!
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Cordell,
Thank you for your lovely message! It warms my heart to hear that you can see that Alice-Miranda has many positive attributes but also has her own problems which can be quite challenging.
I’m thrilled that you enjoyed reading Alice-Miranda in Egypt. I will be taking a break from the Alice-Miranda series but you never know what the future holds…
Best wishes,
Jacqueline 🙂
Belle
so happy
Ella
Hey Thomas,
Aren’t you excited for the new Kensy and Max Book!? The cover is amazing and I love the title. So Intriguing!
I can’t wait to get Kensy and Max- High Voltage ! 🙂
Thomas Risson
Same here! If I win, I’m going to be shocked. And I’m definitely going to get a copy of High Voltage as soon as possible. I already have some money set aside to get it. Do you read Alice Miranda and Clementine Rose as well? My little sister’s collecting them and she’s already got all the CR books! I’ve collected all the Kensy and Max books, including the Spy Journal and Spy Games. I love how the series just keep on going…and going… and going. I’m attempting to write a chapter book at the moment, with the same theme-spying/ detecting.
Ella
Cool! It seems we have a lot in common. Do you live near Sydney? I don’t want to ask for your location, but after I get out of lock down, I’d really like to meet you! Also, I do like Alice Miranda too! I used to borrow them from my school library, but when we went into isolation and started getting home-schooled, I couldn’t read them for a while. I did win this Clementine Rose book though, it was when Jacqueline Harvey came to my school and I won a colouring competition. I’ve read her books ever since. I’m also writing a chapter book, well, a LOT of chapter books. I started one, then decided on another and so on, I’d love if we could share our ideas!
Thomas Risson
Unfortunately, I live 10 hours away from Sydney, in Victoria, so meeting each other would be a rare coincidence. Also, Jacqueline Harvey has never come to any of the 4 schools I’ve been to, proving my unluckiness. What’s your book called? We could still share ideas, and any other keen writers, here if they want to.
Ella
I feel sorry for you, not being able to meet Jacqueline Harvey like I did. My book is called Adelaide Smith. It’s kind of a nudge to last century. I like the sound of the spy novel your writing though!
Thomas Risson
What’s your book about? It sounds really intriguing! I’m still working on a title. By the way, it’s a week until the writing competition closes. Hope you got your entry in!
Ella
Yep, got my entry in AGES before now. My book that I am writing is about a girl in an orphanage named Adelaide Smith who speaks to her best friend through a window! Then their’s this new girl named Amelia Churchill but they just call her Millie. Then they get caught painting their room purple and got the window blocked up so Adelaide’s friend couldn’t talk to them (Her name is Carol by the way) But finally, they’ve escaped the orphanage and are on the run. It’s not finished yet and that’s about how much I got up to.
Ella
Oops sorry I made so many mistakes while I was rushing it all.
Zoe
hello I’m ten. And I love Alice-miranda I just brought this book and I love it
Ella
Tomorrow is my birthday! Hip Hip Hooray
Since it’s lockdown we can’t go out but I’m going to make my family read all the Kensy and Max books on my shelf (a.k.a the whole collection.)
Abigail
Happy birthday, Ella!
I’m Abigail, but call me Abi. My book was about a magician who escaped from her town since the King’s soldiers killed her parents. It’s a bit like fantasy, although I WISH we had more words to fit in. Trust me, I would have written pages of writing. . .
Anyway, yours and Thomas’s sound REALLY good.
Wish you the best for your birthday and your story!
Grace
Happy birthday Ella!
Hope you had a nice day!
Your story that you wrote sounds really intriguing!
Wishing you the best for your birthday and your story for the writing competition.
Ella
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the lovely comments. I really appreciate it. I hope you guys win the competition too!
Kind Regards,
Ella
Abigail
Bah. I accidentally sent mine two times – I was THAT nervous!
Grace
Don’t worry, I don’t blame you. I’m looking in my inbox literally every second, hoping something in regards to the competition will pop up.
Besides, I’m also VERY nervous.
I’ll probably be waking up in the middle of the night, still stressing if my entry was good enough, because ever since I sent mine, I have started to change my mind about some parts.
Ella
Same! You know how you only ever see your mistakes after you’ve sent it? That’s what happened to me
Grace
Yeah, that also happened to me. Not once, not twice, not 3 times, but about a billion times!
I wish someone had a clock to rewind the time.
Ella
I doubt I’ll win I was so excited I forgot to mention what the story was actually about! Because I was thinking about it and I already knew the story, but I forgot to teel the reader! LOL
Grace
I doubt I’ll win even more!
Also, your story sounds really interesting.
At least you’ve got a bigger chance of winning than me!
My chance is approximately 0.0000001%!
Ella
Well my chance is 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance.
Aili Killen
I think I will win
Grace
I disagree!
Your story sounds really interesting and you have a very big chance of winning.
Also, my story is about a girl who really loves swimming and wants to go to the Olympics, however boys tease her and say that she will never get there.
Lets just say that we’ll both be shocked if we win.
Ella
Deal. But you’ll win, I just know it. WHEN you win, what book will you ask to be signed? If I might win, I will ask for a signed copy of the next Kensy and Max Book, High Voltage
Grace
I’m not sure, honestly.
I love Alice Miranda and Clementine Rose, but I’ve never read the Kensy and Max series.
Maybe the Alice Miranda Shows The Way.
It sounds exciting from the sample I read earlier.
I just know that you’ll totally blitz it and win.
Ella
Either you or Abi are winning. End of story. (LOL pun not intended)
Abigail
Thanks!
But I’m pretty sure I’l faaaaaaaail!
Grace
Yeah, serious editing needed!
Either you or Abi will win.
Definitely not me!
End of story
Abigail
My story was loosely based off a story that was unfinished.
Abigail
But I guess it’s alright. . .
Abigail
Thanks!
But I’m pretty sure I’l faaaaaaaail!
Ella
Ok, Let’s just say we’ll ALL fail, before we fill this blog post with comments regarding the competition. 😛
Grace
Yeah, I agree. I don’t know about you, but in the 6 months or so I’ve subscribed to Jacqueline Harvey’s newspaper, I don’t think that this is the ideal place to be talking about the competition.
But good luck to everyone!
Aditi
Imagine coming to your favorite author’s blog to find that 50-something comments went to 94 while you were gone.
OH WAIT, that just happened-
😛
Grace
Totally agree.
That just happened and while we can still chat, I don’t think will should bombard Jacqueline Harvey’s blog!
Ella
There should be like, a place for fans to chat and have fun, you know? Even if you don’t have a phone, you can join on an iPad or laptop and chat with fellow fans and we can get each others numbers and we can have some fun! How cool would that be!
Mrs Harvey, you should really think about doing something like this! We would all love it! Comment on this post if you agree!
Grace
Great idea!
I’d love for some place for us to all chat without us bombarding Mrs. Harvey’s blog!
We really should think about this, however my concern is I’m not the best person to contact when it comes to technology!
I’ve had trouble logging in to all my zooms and webinars so yeah, but a place to chat that doesn’t include big, high-technology sounds great! I really like your idea.
Ella
Hey! We could create a Google Doc and everybody types on it and chats! That would be AMAZE! But I’m still wondering how everybody would access…. WAIT Mrs Harvey can use the emails that signed up to the newsletter so our emails stay private!
Grace
Is it just me or is that a better idea than before???
Maybe I’m terrible at zooms and webinars, but surely I can get on a google doc!
Ella
Thanks!
Grace
You always come up with brilliant ideas!
I might need your help when my friend and I get stuck on a mystery!
Can you give me some tips on how to get brilliant ideas?
Ella
Sure! First tip,
Think about what’s impossible, then from there think about how you can make it possible from there. That’s how I always start.
Evelyn
Me too! Can I join? i would like to chat 🙂 I am a BIG fan of Mrs, Harvey!
Grace
Thanks a lot!
So, let me just get this straight. First, think of the impossible then try to make it possible, right?
Ella
Yep! Think about what is IMPOSSIBLE in your situation, than change small things to make it possible
Grace
Got it
Do you have any other tips?
Kay
WoW! You guys have some awesome ideas! I think another place for fans to come and chat would be really cool. I entered the competition too but I wasn’t surprised when I didn’t end up in the top. It was fun writing it though.
Great ideas!
Grace
Yeah, same. I entered but didn’t end up in the shortlist, but I’ll keep on trying.
I’m not at all surprised, I didn’t even think my writing had a chance!
I guess I was right, but congratulations to everyone that did end up in the shortlist!

Hi Jacqueline,
You’re so inspiring and I love you so much!
I write a lot of books and have a great time doing so. I have wrote a series of spy books for people beginning to read chapter books! It was a lot of fun.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Kitkat,
Thank you for your kind words, I’m thrilled to hear that you enjoy writing (it truly is one of the best jobs and hobbies in the world)!
Jacqueline 🙂

when is alice miranda a royal christmas ball being released?
Jacqueline Harvey
It’s out now on STAN and will be on 9GO! sometime in December. I will write about it as soon as I know.
Mollie
Hello Jacqueline,
I’ve been forever wanting to commend you on your astonishing work regarding your Alice-Miranda, Clementine Rose and Kensy and Max series. I have read every single book of yours aside from Kensy and Max: take Down, but I have got it ready to read soon. Jacqueline, you inspire me to no end with your writing, and it is because of your series that I long to be an author and have longed to for quite some time. I have just finished reading Alice-Miranda in Egypt, and wasn’t it amazing! I loved how Millie was the donator of Jabari’s treatment; it’s those sorts of things that warm my heart. I love Alice-Miranda and her bubbly personality, and her illustrations make her so life-like! I would love a friend like Alice-Miranda.
I was hoping that you could spare me some tips on writing because I’ve begun to write many stories that I fail to finish. My problem is that I can never come up with a good ending and I get myself down by comparing my work to other authors like you and thinking that I aren’t good enough!
Please don’t stop your Alice-Miranda series; not now! It has been more than three years since I discovered Alice-Miranda. It was a morning before school when I found Alice-Miranda in Paris on the bookshelf. When I had been younger, maybe six or seven, my mum had bought me the book in the airport as something to engage me for the plan trip, but I was too young to really make head-or-tail of it, although I liked the illustration. Once I began reading, I never looked back. My friend and I would scour the library for Alice-Miranda books, and although all of the up to book 17 were there, we always wanted our own copy, because doesn’t it feel nice to have your own book? I have Alice-Miranda Books 1,2,5,6,7,12,13,17,18,19 and now 20, and books 1,3,4,5,6,6.5 and 7 of Kensy and Max, as well as book 6 of Clementine Rose. I think it’s obvious that I’m a big fan!
You really inspire me and what your work is so inspiring. I love your characters and the pinch humour that you add as well. I hope you’re doing well and please, don’t ever stop being a miracle!
Jacqueline Harvey
Thank you Mollie for your beautiful words! It’s messages like this that make me know I did the right thing becoming an author :). It’s tricky writing stories and you really mustn’t compare yourself to other authors – you’re young and just starting out. One of the things I do is always have a plan for how the story will progress – right down to knowing pretty much how it’s going to end. Will there be a chase scene? Will there be a twist? How are the main characters going to deal with the baddies? Planning is a really good way to know the direction of the story. Also fall in love with your characters – the goodies and baddies. I adore the characters I write because they are all important to the stories.
I’m just editing Kensy and Max 9 which is called Chasing Danger. I’d better get back to it because even though it’s Christmas, deadlines keep coming.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day and here’s hoping that 2022 is a much improved year on the last two!! Hope to meet you somewhere one of these days.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Mollie
Sorry for the typos
Mollie
Jacqueline,
You inspire so many young people, and old I might add. Never stop doing what you do, because your work is so brilliant and creative. You’re the reason that I want to become an author. Even since I started reading your Alice-Miranda series about three years ago, I’ve turned into a bookworm. Now, I’ve read all of your books aside from Kensy and Max: Take Down, and it’s on my bookshelf, waiting to be read. Please don’t stop being you, because life is so much more worthwhile with books, and you’ve bring so much joy to so many people. Thank you.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Mollie,
Your words are so heartwarming and made my day, thank you!
I am currently very busy writing so there are definitely more books to come. 🙂
Happy reading,
Jacqueline x

are the alice miranda books set in our current time period (like 2021) or before?
KitKat
I don’t think so, with COVID-19 and all. How could they travel to all the places they do.
Jacqueline Harvey
I’ve never really given them an absolute time frame as I didn’t want to have to deal with ‘current’ technology or some world events. So it’s modern but not necessarily right now :).
Ella
Yeah, It’s a bit complicated when you involved real life events.

Jaqueline, I love Clementine rose and Kensy and Max I’ve read all of them.
Are there new books coming? And every few book someone calls the twins Kensington and Maxim. Is that their real name?
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Chloe,
I’m thrilled to hear you enjoy reading about the adventures Clementine Rose and Kensy and Max have! Another Kensy and Max book will be published next year. Yes, that’s right – their real names are Kensington and Maxim (just Kensy and Max for short). 🙂
Happy reading,
Jacqueline
Evelyn
I loved Alice-Miranda in Egypt! Sadly, I didn’t get to go in the ZOOM meeting, but I am still supporting you from Singapore!

I can’t wait till I get to read this book, I love Alice Miranda’s the mysteries are so interesting that I wish the books were longer I have read almost all of them except number 19 20 and 16
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Robyn,
I hope that you enjoy Alice-Miranda in Egypt! I’m thrilled to hear that you love the mysteries so much you wish that they were longer than they are. 🙂
Happy reading,
Jacqueline
Maya
Hi Miss Harvey,
I don’t expect you to remember me, but I used to comment on this blog quite a lot when I was younger. You actually still have my review for Alice-Miranda to the Rescue up on the page which I was surprised and excited to see. I just wanted to express how much I still absolutely adore the Alice-Miranda series (even though I am now 19 years old, and probably should have out-grown it)!
I’ve just finished Alice-Miranda in Egypt and it was just as fabulous as the rest of the books in your marvellous series. The characters have all developed wonderfully over the years and I love to see how they all interact. It brings me much joy to see my favourite couple as a child (Lucas and Jacinta) are still going strong. Your exploration, appreciation and representation of diverse cultures in your books is absolutely beautiful, and is highlighted throughout Alice-Miranda in Egypt. The mystery keeps you hooked and the plot is thrilling.
I would love to see you one day write an adventure based in Greece or Cyprus where my own family is from. I have introduced my younger sister to your books and hope she loves them as much as I always have.
Much adoration,
A long time fan, Maya.
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Maya,
This message was so sweet, thank you for taking the time to write to me!
I love keeping reviews and comments that all my readers make (and sometimes if I am stuck for names I come to the blog to see if there are any names which might be good in one of my books). I will have to have a look and find your review now that you have mentioned it (I am looking forward to reading it again).
I have many fans who are in University and even parents so you are never too old to pick up one of the kids books I write. 🙂
I’m thrilled to hear that you enjoyed Alice-Miranda in Egypt – and just if you were wondering, ‘Lucinta’ are going strong and spending lots of time together in the world of Alice-Miranda.
You never know where the future will lead Alice-Miranda…
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Harper
Hi Mrs Harvey,
I absolutely adore your books with every bone in my body, and the characters you create are so lovable. However, I wanted to ask if you could ever write a book featuring some LGBTQIA+ characters? Maybe not even new ones- perhaps have a more side character (like Sep, maybe?) have a change in pronouns, or have a characters hint that they like multiple genders/their same gender without explicitly stating it. Or even aromantic/asexual representation by having a character who isn’t interested in romance for themselves at all.
I understand that your demographic of readers is huge, but every little bit that a person can do to make the LGBTQIA+ community more normalized towards newer generations of kids/teens is greatly appreciated (And this is coming from a member of the LGBTQIA+ community- I’m pansexual and genderfluid).
I hope you don’t stop writing anytime soon! You’re so incredibly talented 🙂
Love,
Harper
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Harper,
I love your name by the way! Thank you for your suggestions. In the Willa and Woof books, there’s actually a family with two Mums who live on Willa’s street. I haven’t made a big deal about them because I just want people to realise that it’s normal. Part of everyday life. They have two children called Layla and Ben. Layla bites but Ben’s cute. Their mums are Andrea and Louise but she gets called Lou. I’m always thinking about how to include as many different people in our society as possible.
Thank you for your very kind words.
Jacqueline xx
Evie
Hi! It’s very exciting to post on this blog! I really liked Alice-Miranda in Egypt and I can’t wait for number 21! Thanks for creating Alice-Miranda!
I agree with Maya, I would love to see a book where Alice-Miranda travels to Greece or Cyprus, that would be so cool! Or one where she is Africa or Thailand or Central Asia, more of Europe or a Spanish country…there are so many places she can go! Also yeah I like how you make the books culturally diverse.
I remember meeting you at my primary school in year 4, that was great, thank you for wanting to communicate and engage with your readers. 🙂
Over the years I have collected all the books in the series as they come out, and I’m looking forward to adding another adventure to my collection!
Evie 🙂
Jacqueline Harvey
Thanks Evie! Your comments are so lovely. I really appreciate them and I am writing Alice-Miranda number 21 for next year. I’ve been busy with Willa and Woof and Kensy and Max and writing picture books too this year but never fear – AM is going to be back soon.
Isla Van Houplines
Hi, I’m a huge fan of Alice-Miranda and I’ve read all of the books over and over again. I’ve asked for the Kensy and Max books for my birthday (in 2 weeks time!). I live in the UK and my friend from Australia recommended the books to me.
I was wondering if you were planning to write any more Alice Miranda books? I hope so!
Jacqueline Harvey
Thanks Isla. I’m so pleased to hear that you’re enjoying the Alice-Miranda books. I hope that you got some Kensy and Max titles for your birthday. I am going to write another Alice-Miranda book next year. At the moment I’m busy working on Kensy and Max 10 and a new series called Willa and Woof.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Eliana
Hi Jaqueline, I love your books and mainly listen to audiobooks so i was wondering if you could record the Alice-Miranda books. And when will the next Alice-Miranda and Kensy and Max books come out?
Jacqueline Harvey
There are currently 7 Alice-Miranda books recorded – books 1-5 and then Book 19 and 20. We’re going to do more of them but it just takes time.
Eliana
Hi Jacqueline,
I have read all of the Alice-Miranda books and Kensy and Max books. In some of them there are mentions of a Kensy and Max movie and I was wondering if that true.
Thanks Eliana
Eliana
Also will you be recording the rest of the Alice-Miranda books because I love listening to the Kensy and Max audiobooks.
Jacqueline Harvey
Yes I will be but it will take some time 🙂
Jacqueline Harvey
We’re hoping that there’s a Kensy and Max movie one day but at the moment we have an agreement with some people who are looking at whether they can make it happen. Fingers crossed.
Rebecca
Hi Jacqueline
I was wondering if there would be a book 21
Jacqueline Harvey
Yes!I’m about to start writing it and it will be out in October this year.
Selinaaaaa
Hi Jacqueline,
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH YOUR BOOKS!!! The characters are so loveable and clever and sweet (not to mention mature beyond their ages) and I’m always left stunned at the mysteries, plots, and character backgrounds you manage to think of. I always appreciate the little romances you include in your books too, they’re so CUTE. Lucas and Jacinta were so precious in Egypt btw. Even though I’m 13 I still adore your books and I can even read them with my little sister who’s 8 and we’ll both still enjoy it. I watched the first film of AM too, I thought it was very well done in the animations and voice actor picks but I still prefer the source material. Do you know where I could watch the second one?
I can’t wait for AM 21 (woah how are we on book 21 already?) to come out! Any hints as to what it’ll be about?
Love,
Selina
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Selina,
AM 21 is going to be a Christmas story – still not sure where it’s going to be set but I have thought about her visiting Britt in Norway for part of it. It will be out in October this year. Jacqueline xx
