Total Quack Up Writing Competition for Kids (it’s new!) Competition closes 29 July – so get busy!
Penguin Random House is seeking submissions from young writers for a new humorous short story collection, Total Quack Up! (October 2018), edited by children’s authors Sally Rippin and Adrian Beck, and illustrated by James Foley.
Rippin and Beck will select the most creative story by a young writer aged 12 or younger for inclusion in the book. Other contributors include Rippin, Beck, Deborah Abela, Tristan Bancks, Jacqueline Harvey, Paul Jennings, Alex Miles, Oliver Phommavanh, R A Spratt and Matt Stanton.
All royalties from sales of the book will be donated to Dymocks Children’s Charities, which provides literacy support to underprivileged children.
Beck said, ‘Sally and I will be reading every single entry and most of all we want kids to make us laugh out loud! The stories can be about anything—they can be embarrassing, possibly spooky or even a little gross! And personally, I love a twist, so I’m hoping for some surprise endings.’
Children interested in the opportunity are encouraged to submit a funny story (minimum 500 words) to THIS LINK by 29 July 2018.

Hi Jacqueline,
i know you probably havent fully decided yet but i was wondering what is AM 18 going to be about? Will Lucinta be in it or maybe their parents, because i have seen a lot of coments about Neville Headlington-Bear and Kitty Nixon.
Also, how do we enter the competiton?
From Saph
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Saph,
You’re right that I haven’t exactly decided yet but I think it will be back at school and there may be some exchange students. To enter the competition you need to go onto the website link for Nine GO and take it from there.
Good luck!

Hi
When is the new clementine rose coming out? I loved Alice Miranda in Scotland.
Emily
Jacqueline Harvey
Hi Emily,
I’m currently working on that book right now. It’s called Clementine Rose and the Bake-Off Dilemma and will be out in December (as long as I finish it by next Monday!!) Well then we have to edit it too but I’m about 13,000 words into the draft. I hope that you’ll enjoy it. I’m so pleased you loved AM in Scotland – that was a fun story to write. I’ve got a new Kensy and Max book out in September.
Best wishes,
Jacqueline
Zoe

Hi Jacqueline
I noticed in AM Scotland that it said the phones were confiscated, ( the part where Jacinta was upset) does this mean the girls all have mobile phones of their own?
Kyla
Mum’s thinking about publishing my book I’m writing.
It’s called Wendy the wonderful witch.
That girl that made Total Quack-Up is very talented.
Right NOW I’m listen to Come Alive from the greatest showman.
That was random.

Jacqueline Harvey
All sounds good to me 🙂

Hi Jacqueline
