Yum Cha Launch of Alice-Miranda in China

Hi Everyone,

It was a wonderful celebration with fabulous food and great company at the official Sydney launch of Alice-Miranda in China. What better way to do it than with a spectacular Yum Cha brunch. The food was plentiful, the crowd, enthusiastic and I was absolutely humbled by some of the huge distances parents had driven to come along – Bathurst, Canberra, the Blue Mountains, Maitland and all over Sydney.

I had a ball talking about the inspiration behind this book and it was great to celebrate with my publisher, Holly and editor Catriona as well as Dot, who is in charge of the Penguin Random House Children’s Publicity and Marketing team. My husband Ian was there as always to support me and my assistant Linda and her daughter Georgia as well as Georgie, who has been a dedicated fan since the very beginning and is now a terrific friend.

Thanks to everyone who came along and to Zilver Restaurant in Haymarket for the delicious and abundant food.

Best wishes,

Jacqueline

    Hi Anshika,

Thank you- one of the things that I love most about being a writer, is being able to get out and about to meet the wonderful children who inspire me to write!

    Best wishes,

    Jacqueline

Dear Ms Harvey,
I can’t wait to read this book! There’s just something timeless and magical in your books that I still enjoy even as a 15-year-old. When approximately do you think Alice-Miranda in China will be in libraries throughout Australia? I live at the Gold Coast and the library is my constant source of brain-food. I can’t live without books!

    Dear Bekky,

Thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm. I love that you have such a love of reading. I know that you are not alone- I have many fans who are your age and older! Sadly, I can’t predict when the Alice-Miranda in China will be in libraries- why not ask your local library; you are obviously a good customer :)!

    Best wishes,

    Jacqueline

I have got the book from the library today and am almost finished reading it. I absolutely love Jacinta and Lucas! I can’t wait to see more of them together as the series progresses. Coco is definitely a favourite character too. What’s book 15 going to be about?

Also, I’m wondering if there’ll ever be anything with Millie and Sep together. I don’t know why, but I think they’d be cute.

        Hi Bekky,

I’m so pleased that you’re enjoying the book. 15 is called Alice-Miranda Holds the Key – there is a big garden party happening at her house and there are some mysterious things going on at home – as well as with her father’s business. Hope you’ll enjoy that too!

        Best wishes,
        Jacqueline

Dear Jacqueline,
I went to the Alice Miranda book launch!
It was amazing!
There was definitely enough food though!
And it’s funny that you just wrote about Alice Miranda going overseas!
I am going to Europe on Friday!
I am so excited!
And I finished Alice Miranda in China, OMG it was amazing!
And I also can’t wait for the new Alice Miranda to be released next year plus the new Clementine Rose!
Have a great day,
Matilda

I love Alice Miranda in China, its one of my favourite books in the series so far! I really like that part of the book focused more on Jacinta and Lucas as they are two of my favourite characters! I hope that the next book has a bit of them and their relationship in it too. Anyway, its a really cool, interesting book and I love it (but I love all your books). 🙂
